| Johnny Funk and Raydar
Fuck the headliners, I love these guys! I heard from several that DJ Icey sucks. And then I heard from a few that he was good. I really wasn't planning on seeing DJ Icey & Jen Lasher last night, but there wasn't shit else to do. Might as well go check it out and get an opinion for myself. Besides, I knew Johnny Funk would be there, and he would make it all worth it. He never ever ever ever ever ever ever disappoints! He had my night starting off wonderful. Great jumping, fist in the air, tunes. Some really nice electro house got me in the mood that this night was going to be bad ass! Jen Lasher comes on, and it went downhill from there. I could stand there and enjoy her music, but it's nothing you can dance to. She's pretty active and entertaining to watch her rocking out the place. But you'd notice the dance floor was empty, as everyone stood on the sidelines watching. The tunes were even too fast and hard to even bob a head to, so no dancing would of worked. We went to the video bar to check out Raydar and Shaolin rocking out the place. It was funny that more people were crammed in that room than in the main room. Some great jumping tunes, I could finally bob my head and jump a little bit. Nothing wasn't quite doing it for me, though, and I was just wondering if maybe I wasn't in the mood at all anymore. We went back to the main room to check out DJ Icey. I have always heard he was progressive, deep electrohouse....but I heard straight up techno. It was a little more smoother than Jen. But I found it quite boring. I could tell alot of people were into it, though. The dance floor was a little crowded. Some tracks were good, but really...I was bored out of my mind! So we went back to the video bar. It was all Raydar getting that room jumping. And it was as if he knew the perfect formula to get to me. As soon as I walked in, he cranked in a little magic....."This is an anthem for the girl that got away...." *shocked* I had always wanted to hear that song on a sound system, and finally got my wish. Shoot straight up for the front of the room and sang along with Raydar and the rest of the crowd. It was just like I imagined it would be. The crowd with their hands in the air, everyone singing along, screaming the words out as loud as you can. The DJ with his arms out as if he was trying to hug the crowd and the magic in the air. And then we ......JUMP! After a little magic, we will go straight in to some nostalgia....."Tears From the Moon....falling down like rain" OMG! Amazing!!! I hadn't heard that track in sooooo long! And since he now has me - he must of known I'd need Armin! ".....CONTROL FREAK.....dut dooo dooo dut!" How can my night not be complete without Armin?! All of that right in a row, and Raydar has won me over! LaunchPad - you would laugh at this one. Later, my mood went downhill fast. Cause Raydar kicks in, "Party all the time" Luckily it wasn't the extended version that Sharam looooves to play. That brought back some bad memories, but that's just personal issue I should just go to therapy for. That song just gives me the heeby jeebies. Thank you Johnny Funk and Raydar for making my night, and making up for all of Jen Lasher and DJ Icey's shitty sets! |

While the review was okay for the part you liked... it's a little retarded to say something 'sucked' just because you don't like that style of music. Needless to say, I didn't go to the show... although I do like Icey. And when I read 'techno' I was like wtf. As much as I enjoy Johnny and Raydar.... this was seriously stupid.

Umm...okay. I look all around this damn party review forum and the reviews I see for other shows were, "good night, loved it." and that was it....nothing more. That's all I read from all of these god damn reviews. No one has anything to say about their experience what so ever. Let me add that this review was titled "Johnny Funk and Raydar" that's what this review is about. So when you click on the title, you should expect Johnny Funk and Raydar, not DJ Icey. And none of you have pitched in any sort of worthy shit either - So fuck you! Last edited by sharper; 07-16-07 at 01:38 AM. |

Anything more than one arm up in the air is considered Jesus posing. And Matt has a small penis.
