HA! HA! Thanks Roos! Hopefully I wasn't too obnoixously (? spelling) drunk by the time you saw me! The sad part... I had 2 drinks in 3 hours and I was really buzzed. It was nice meeting you too man. Thanks for the kind words. I'm happy to know that triathlon training does a body good! Nice to finally meet you too Sharper! I couldn't believe you didn't have a drink when we saw you! Hot girl in a club, who wants to get drunk without a drink? What's wrong with THAT picture! Yes, I do recall my ass getting slapped and grabbed. I hope it was people I know... but if it wasn't... oh well, it's just my big 'ol booty. Finally met Sexual Chocolate in person! Like I said Brian, you are much more handsome in person and very fit. Go rock it man. He was also kind enough to take me around to meet other DDMers. I remember.... uuuummmm... OK, my memory isn't so good. But I'm sure they don't all remember meeting me either. I also spoke with a very nice Electrical Engineer while Jonny was being entertained by Sharper. He doesn't post on here though... so I won't give a shout out. HA! But if anyone is looking for a casual guy to date (he moves around a lot), who is a cutie-pie, and easy to talk to... I got the man to hook you up with! Jayson Gold... good seeing you! Do you remember trying to loop me into doing another party? HHhhuuuummmmm???? Love ya man. You were a sweetie! Nina... HELLO HOTTIE! Nice seeing you gal! Looking good lady! Pickle... nice to finally meet you in person. I love the hair color! It's perfect! You are a hottie too! ONE FM... you were so funny walking in the door. That cracked me up that story you told. I hope you made it "out alive". HA! Now... for the music... it was really good! I won't say that I was there for the music as I really went out to socialize and get my drink on... and I thought I might not like the music, but I did! While I talked I shook my ass the whole time. Very good stuff!

Carl didnt take me completely there but it didnt matter. All my favourite people were in attendance so the night rocked. Housebitch is a true playa. Keren and Johnny are hotter at House events . The 4 "Juanes" were kickin it hard. Me, Dingo, John coolO, and the Johnny Funkus. It was great.

Well even though I somehow ended up being the stamp guy, I had a blast. Got a little taste of the sonic greatness for the last 30 minutes. I was smiling ear to ear by 2:00. Glad to see everyone out, we need more raves like this.

Oh yeah! Seeing Johnny Funk at Minc was a first for me. He needs to head that way more often! Yay! Quote:

The past two nights have been furious with sound and revelry. I think the word and the vibe spilled out of Thursday night's events and Friday evening's casual beginning. It seemed a bit thin when I first stepped in, but I attribute that to a mix of Dallas' love for not showing up before 11:30 and the clusterfuq that was Fair Park traffic. Ave C came through and repped it once again (although in a more controlled fashion than Rich and I whooping the crowd into a syncopated cheer, lol) and I got a chance to see most of the folks from the previous night and a slew of people that I haven't seen out in a dog's day. The rest of the accounts in this thread are pretty much on point, but I saw a different angle to Dallas last night. House music moves people. Techno has been known to move people (although slowly catching its comeuppance here in Dallas). From start to finish, there was a host of people that were able to move along to the beat and still have a good time without having an anthem to scream or words to cheer. When Carl took control, the place ramped up and the club started to fill up. By about 12:45, the place (both the front area near the DJ booth and most of the way to the middle of the club towards the back bar) were filled. You had the pretty people (not of our "scene") right alongside the Techno fanatics like Minto and a slew of other notables, meshing without word, joined in aural bliss. Those who went without knowledge of the music enjoyed themselves right alongside those who knew the playlist song for song. Hell, those who didn't even know he was Techno got into it enough to want him to play one more record. The fact that EVERYONE seemed to get into it made me really happy. Hopefully the turnout and the love shown will make him decide to want to come back. Dallas does indeed love Carl Craig. Fresco, MINC Family, thank you. I still don't know why this wasn't billed as a Legends show, but you know what? Those of us who know him as a legend don't need a flyer to tell us the fact of things. The music and the method says it all. Thank you all for making the night memorable. Obrigado! - Da Ruf

a memorable night... amazing tunes, new mixes by C2 and dark dark music. I loved it. Thanks to Jose for sticking his neck out and bringing this party to Dallas. Demon Days indeed... did anyone catch Carl laying the horns on the road lizard girl who ended up harassing him in the booth... haha got to also say that Gamall played some amazing stuff too... the new upcoming Moritz Von oswald 12"s were a treat to hear and both C2 and him played some stuff that truly inspired and showed there is more growth and innovation left in techno even 26 years later. great to see and talk to everyone I ran into. And Trey, the new bartender at Minc rules!

Good times. DFW techno militia was in full force (the whole handful of us!). I agree with Toe that Gamall's set was nice - too bad there weren't many people around until the end of his set. As Ruf mentioned (nice chatting w/ you btw), Dallasites enjoy the late entrance. Although the crowd was dencently large, I'm a little disappointed that more were not in attendance. Then again, if it's not Farina, Kaskade, or the likes, it can be an uphill battle around these parts. Nice set from C2. A little of the old...Red Planet, Paperclip People, Moroder, Inner City, with a little of the new. Now my sinuses are inflamed from the second hand cigarette smoke I enhaled all night. However, there are prices one must pay to witness the Mind of a Machine. Until next time, back to the Wonderful Life of Home Entertainment. |
