GIANT in Los Angeles
I'm staying here in SoCal for a week (leaving tomorrow unfortunately) and went to GIANT. I must comment that it was an amazing party, better than anything in TX by far. The lineup consisted of MSTRKRFT, Roger Sanchez, Kaskade, Z-Trip, LA Riots, Robbie Rivera, and Tiesto (ugh). Didn't care much for Tiesto so I went to the other stages and rocked out to the likes of the artists mentioned above.

There were about 3-4 parties in LA alone to choose from, including Together as One with Sasha & Digweed, Deadmau5, Ferry Corsten, AK1200, among others, and the HARD festival with Justice and Busy P.

I wish TX would have the vibrant scene that SoCal has, but then again SoCal is much, much bigger so go figure.

The weather sure felt nice after a night's worth of dancing haha

Dallas used to have great large events such as this i.e. Bronco Bowl

The last decent one I went to was Perfecto Presents in July 05.

Plus if Dallas was more of a tourist location as well it would help. I know when someone thinks WHERE DO WE GO FOR NYE that Dallas won't be the first option...

Heard it was a cluster fuck this year. Fire Marshall had to stop Tiesto's set to get the crowd to stop pushing forward.

Yeah that was true. I was too busy listening to MSTRKRFT and Z-Trip than to bother with Tiesto's set.

several hundred 30 something ex-ravers that live in reasonably close proximity of los angeles make events like this possible.....the scene was never big enough here to support events of that size today

after i saw justice play cds on a bigger stage AND more people than Bloc Party(prolly 3k to less than 1k), i realized anything is possible in LA.
