Kid Koala, Dj Shadow, and Cut Chemist. All of them rocked. To see Dj Shadow and Cut Chemist feed each other material and completely rock that place. They decided to play all 45's which was just more icing. The visuals of coarse amazing. Excellent show. Pure awesome-ness.

i was expecting more of a DJ Shadow "concert" - this was a pleasant surprise. 8 turntables - all 45's. quite impressive. some rough spots here & there. overall, it was really dope. with that being said... i much more enjoy his true concerts where he works the video/midi and all.

I felt the show was kind of flat for much of it. Definately some bumps and bruises through alot of the set. Had better time, when shadow was at tipsy g room a couple years ago. Visuals did kick ass though. Would have preferred putting my money on a bottle of crown.

saw the show in austin on friday. had a girl saying she had $200 for 2 tix on my way in. i almost stopped and asked if she wanted 1 for 100, but she was with her friend and wanted 2 so i didn't say anything. seemed like kid koala took awhile to get on stage and when he did his set was barely 1/2 an hour. very entertaining set (i think i might have liked his the best). then another 1/2 an hour of lag time before shadow and cut chemist's set. 3 tracks in or so they had to restart their gig because the looping effect on the guitar petal wasn't working. lots of scrapes and bruises throughout (which i think is to be expected when playing only 45s). the concept of playing "only 45s" with mixer and guitar effects is defjnetly vintage and i think they did a great job blending all the different genres, but i have to agree with nitetripp, i was hoping for more of a typical shadow show which this was not. defintely had their moments that made it overall worth attending, but $35 for 3 dj's (and that was just the face value)? i kind of wish now i had said something to that chick cause i would much rather $100 (or even just a bottle of crown) than seeing this show. |

Great fucking time. The fact that the whole show was on 45's was interesting. The visuals rocked and created a cool exp with the music. Juan that fur coat was insane. It was good seeing a ton of people at this event. Drex, Snoopy, DJ Big Snax, The Ewoks, TTBoy, Travis, and a ton of others. Does anyone know if the dude with the glowsticks got his ass beat? WTF was wrong with that guy. Merritt I take it you were up in the seating area and not down in GA with the commoners?

Saturday night was pretty damn awesome. I was really excited to see Kid Koala & he didn't dissapoint with the regular jazzyhiphopblues tunes. I think he's wayyyyyyyyy underappreciated & it might have been cooler to see him at a smaller venue. Shadow & Chemist ruled. I was expecting more hiphop tracks so I was plesantly surprised that that what they played was all over the board. I mean how much cooler does it get then those two playing the fucking Beach Boys? ![]() <3 - 1/2 of the Ewoks
