He started out with a couple funky tunes... and then just bored me to death.

The best song of the night was the last one when he closed with Chaka Khan's "Aint Nobody."

The rest of his set got a HUGE thumbs down for me.

Woody's set was rockin'! I loved it! Then Andy came on, and I was a bit bored. Towards the end, he picked it up and I enjoyed some of it. And I couldn't believe that I even knew the last song. weird.... lol
that dude did not seem to really be happy with being there. He looked pissed off during his whole set. lol

I am okay with not going then...I was so exhausted from moving that there was no way I could even imagine heading up to Minc. I ended up working to get things unpacked and settled until 3:30am.

well woody's set was good, but andy caldwell bored the hell out of me, he looked about as bored as i felt with his set and i think it really came through in the music/vibe he put out there. the after party was kickin though.

I disagree. Yes, his set was bigger room, but he had a nice variety of tracks - techy, melodic, housey, electro-ish. Very colorful set with lots of energy. I didn't get bored once. It was a different feeling for Minc and I found it refreshing. My theory is, too much of just ONE SOUND gets boring. So in the grand scheme of things... to have various sounds featured like Roy Davis Jr and Caldwell, it keeps things dynamic and interesting. ALL Deep House DJ's ALL the time would get stale. And ALL big room DJs ALL the time would get stale. Variety, folks. It's the spice of life!

I liked some of the tracks alot as they are tracks in my laptop as well but the concensus (sp?) of him looking bored was true.

It was really nice to meet and greet a whole shit load of new ddmers

Really had nothing to do with the genre or style he was playing. I like all styles. But it was boring to me (and obviously others)... and yes, he looked bored too.

A local notable whose opinion I can trust told me that he was kinda bland as well. Said it was some choice tunes, but that the delivery and panache was not present.

Sucks to hear that. Guess I made the wiser decision on accident.
