Fucking bananas. I was getting gas at Race Trac down the street from Afterlife & I could hear the bass A QUATER OF A MILE from the rave. The strippers on Northwest West highway had a bit of extra ounce in their booty bounce in their dance that night for sure. But yeah, there were some red necks fucking fighting in the parking lot & I had them come out... lol! So for the most part the system in the main area in the court yard was really nice, I know that the bass was being pushed so see what all could be done.. but it was literally shaking the walls of the building & I know that it was shaking the dust off... sounded really fucking sick. There were actually certain places that you could stand feel like every note come out, the highs & the lows. So you could hear the deepness - like I have never heard before, indoor or outdoors before. I was really happy about that, since I've never heard that in any kind of sound system. The set up for the main room was probably freaking out the normal ravers at afterlife, bones, candles.... scary... lol! Yeah, no lazers to get the crowd going... and it was a consistant dance floor either way, but I saw some kids pointing at the set up & looking freaked out. Definately not rave regulation, but intense & dark, just awesome to see their reaction. Any how, the deco in the barn was a pretty pyschedelic & it was lovely to have Init. String in there, it just made a great atmosphere. I am so glad to have my homies from Houston come up to this party! I know there are some pics of us with our gold tooth! HOUSTON!! Even just having the Austin crowd come up & made it cool to have them come up since my best friend Erin Lee is moving, so it was like a going away/welcoming party. Having the fog roll in after 2am really made the spooky level go up... any how, I got the pics... videos... of the rave. I'll put them up later today.

This party was cool as shit! I cant wait for there to be another. That sound system outside was way intense! The DNB room is where I stuck around for the most part. Good crowd kept rocking all night long. Dropped a couple dubstep tunes in my set towards the end to send erin off proper. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in this. Cant wait for the next one!!!!!!

Great energy, the vibe was thick as molasses!!! We had a great dancefloor all night, lots of heads out. That BassMaxx system was amazing. It made that dark psy sound like I had never heard it before. You could literally hear every single part of the music... AMAZING! I hear that the owners of afterlife were kindof freaked out that the bass may have rattled the screws that were holding that building together loose and caused it to collapse... hehe I didn't get to see any of the early people's sets because I was stuck at the door til around 11:30-12. LAB's set was nothing short of mind blowing... nice, dark, hypnotic, BASSEY!!! The deco in that main room was so dark and creepy and the fog added to the eerieness. I don't think I've ever seen fog that thick in dallas, ever. (it made the caravan to the afterparty really interesting.) Uhm's set was great, despite having problems with the cdj's throughout it. ![]() The deco all across the board was top notch, I especially liked the enclosed barn's deco, it was so bright and fun! I only saw a portion of InitString's set, but it was great... very tribal, I enjoyed it a lot! I didn't get to see any of the DnB, but I was impressed with the bunker-style deco... looked like a warzone!!! It was great getting to see/meet all the people that came up from Austin and Houston. This was a great closure to the weekend of madness that started on Thursday... Good luck to my close friend Erin Lee on her move to austin, I hope we sent her off with some good memories. ![]() Great party... can't wait to do it again!!!

What a kick ass time we all had. I'm not even sure where to start with ths review so I'm going to start with the sound.. Can you say BASS.. Dear god now that was a friggin sound system. The bassmax guys looked like they were having all kinds of fun seeing how far they could push that sound.. That shit was INTENSE. I thought it sounded great for most all the party except at the end of LABS set all I cold hear was the bass. No highs. At first I thought it was his music but figured out it was the highs I wasn't hearing. I guess that was bassmax kind of testing out this system and playing with it.The music was top notch all night. Iwas a little sad that Echo wasn't able to make it from Houston. It's been a while since I have seen him play. I always enjoy his sets down tempo or psychedelic trance. Mark (force Majure) started off the night. I could tell he was trying to play a bit more tame for 10:00. I think he did a great job considering he doesn't normally play music for taht time. Pete from fugu trance took over and as always played his darker music with a splash of melody here and there. Then LAB...Hahaa I was not expecting him to play the way that he did. No fucking around that night. Head strong music that's for damn sure. There were a few people who were starting to have a hard time but were able to pull themselves through it and get back on that dance floor. This music can be so incredibly intense sometimes it makes your brain play tricks on ya.. Mr UHM took over after LAB and as always played a fabulous set coming out of the craziness that just happend on the dance floor. One of the cdj's started to fuck up but he was able to manage it. Good job baby! I went and checked out the DnB room for a while. They had a packed house in there but not really anyone dancing. Well except for Laine moshing for a brief moment. lol.. Trek layed down some good tunes like he always does. I missed the guys from SA. I heard alot of people say they really liked what they did though. I went to the barn outside to see Instring and that was breath of fresh air. I give them mad props because they most def have their own thing going on music wise. They make the music. I think it's hard to put them in a box as far as style. I didn't see anyone elses set out on the barn. I think all the deco looked great. The psychedelic area was insane. The cave theme worked very well with the whole werewolf (LOBIS HOMEM) thing. No lights at all just tons of candles. Chris junior makes art with bones. He brought all his work out there as an altar. The SHIVA looked great up there as well! Melody brought out her tapistries that we hung up over the speakers and 1 on the altar. Looked very nice.. The deco in the barn looked nice as well. They had some black lights with a couple of the psychedelic laterns and a bunch of strech material. Good job to whoever put all that up. Keith and Laine hooked up the DnB room with the red rope lights and other goodies. I don't know what we would do without them. LUV you keith and Lainey.. Over all It was a nice successful party. I was so happy to see how many people came up from Houston and Austin. You guys kick ass! I was gald to see so many of the AL peeps getting down on the dance floor with all of us crazy psyheads. You guys rawk! To the guy doing POI where the psychedelic trance was . You did a great job. Very nice... Get ready for another one on March 22,2008 |
