i actually think it was almost better then Daft Punks show just because there was no huge stage, or a really sizable light show, or videos etc. Which was great for DP, don't get me wrong. But electronic music gets such a bad rap, thats it's great to see someone pull off a live show without a bunch of bells and whistles and eye candy. The music was the show and nothing else was needed to get the point across, but a cross.

We were all up at the front on the left. The BASS was out of control! I remember trying to light Kelle's cigarette and the bass kept blowing the flame on my lighter out. I feel sorry for anyone that did not make it to the show and had a blast hanging out with my friends that did!!! It was good seeing everyone! Ty

that was almost the best concert ive seen since rage against the machine in 98. FUCKING DOPE!!! i like that the light show wasnt all crazy like dp's, they did it just right for their vibe imo. i didnt have one drink for once and danced WAY more than i have in years! my only dissapointment was d.a.n.c.e...it sounded like it never really "dropped", just a big build up, hearing the voice alone was cool though. DJ MEHDI was incredible, but played for a concert hall, rather than a normal club gig, which, to me, was great for those that arent familiar at all, but to us dj's it was a big dissapointment...i KNOW he can rock a party, he is one of the best dj's ive heard in a while...the daft punk + boys noize mix TOTALLY summed up his player "dj's dj" skillzzzz. he is a mad man with the loops on the cdj1000s. doubt it, they are doing a dj set, not a live set, and unfortunately they arent as good of djs as one would hope =\

It was so good to see everyone. Unless you see me at work, I've been so goddamn out of touch with everyone from the boards. Holy Shit! Last night was a great boooty dancing time...and the afterparty was superb !

missed fancy only caught about 20 min of mehdi's set, which i was verry disapointed about. he is a very good dj, but yeah, usualy you can tell every track he plays. i just love it when he gets into his booty house/ghettotech mode. justice just straight up rocked it, even though ive heard those tracks 1million times before just made them sound wonderful again. i guess since they think they are in the US they think they have to play mostly original material. if you've heard a set from them in france, ou know what i'm talking about. |

![]() | aw, my first post... how cute.
so being relatively new to any sort of dance music compared to most/all of you... i feel it rightfully fitting for me to comment on this show. things i liked and didnt like: 1- i got sort of giddy when they played The Korgis in between Mehdi and Justice... that made me realize that those frenchies probably picked the songs to be played before their set. (it was in that rejected fabric mix they released last year... which was excellent imo) 2- the lights in the cabs reminded me of this hardcore band called breather resist (stuff i grew up on). they had the same type of set up, but none of the cabs that lit up actually made any sound. wonder if justice does the same thing? 3- i was humored at the majority of people around me just staring at mehdi, as if none of them had ever seen a DJ set before. then to think that they're lucky bitches to be introduced to the whole DJ scene with a DJ like mehdi... good stuff. things i didnt like: 4- paying $67 to get wasted on domestics downstairs, then some other amount upstairs that hasnt shown up on my credit card yet. hmm.... ![]() the end. ps- does anybody have any pics of justice's set up to prove they aren't just DJing? i'm not yet convinced their huge set up isnt part of their light show... |
