Justice!!!!!!

so being relatively new to any sort of dance music compared to most/all of you... i feel it rightfully fitting for me to comment on this show. things i liked and didnt like:

1- i got sort of giddy when they played The Korgis in between Mehdi and Justice... that made me realize that those frenchies probably picked the songs to be played before their set. (it was in that rejected fabric mix they released last year... which was excellent imo)

2- the lights in the cabs reminded me of this hardcore band called breather resist (stuff i grew up on). they had the same type of set up, but none of the cabs that lit up actually made any sound. wonder if justice does the same thing?

3- i was humored at the majority of people around me just staring at mehdi, as if none of them had ever seen a DJ set before. then to think that they're lucky bitches to be introduced to the whole DJ scene with a DJ like mehdi... good stuff.

things i didnt like:

4- paying $67 to get wasted on domestics downstairs, then some other amount upstairs that hasnt shown up on my credit card yet. hmm....

the end.

ps- does anybody have any pics of justice's set up to prove they aren't just DJing? i'm not yet convinced their huge set up isnt part of their light show...

they wanted to keep it a mystery as to what they were using, but now its out! lol so its a micro korg, 2 laptops running ableton, maybe the same behringer midi control that daft punk uses live, looks like an oxygen midi controller for xavier, all routed thru a djm 800. cant really see what else the bearded dude is using.

crazy. they are listed as jazz mutant artists on the jazzmutant.com site (prob using lemurs), but i dont see them.

looks like what is being blocked might be a Moog Little Fatty. That thing has ALL of the rocktronic MSTRKRFT-y sounds on it

I had a great time @ this show! Lots of good friends all around. I for one wasent familure with every one of mehdis track selections and thought he did an outstanding job! I would like to see him again as a headliner somwere a bit more intament....or atleast without a day care hipster crowd. the skinney jeaned youth standig around awkwardly kinda was a mood killer.
Lights cameras and action!! Justice gave D-town a great show. Even though 6am came very early it was still well worth it.
After party upstairs...for the min I was there was pretty fucking hype as well!
