Thanks to everyone that's help to make this happen over the last year+ Direct Link: http://www.guidelive.com/sharedconte...1.1bc17d8.html Whisky Bar almost like backyard house party 02:55 PM CDT on Thursday, June 5, 2008 By LESLEY TÉLLEZ / Quick Also Online Location info: Whisky Bar On weekends, it's hard to differentiate the Whisky Bar from all the other Lower Greenville spots blaring Top 40 music out the door. Thursday nights are a different story – the Whisky Bar is low-key and relaxed. DJs play drum 'n' bass on the rooftop patio, and a fire blazes in a large, sunken pit. Patrons in T-shirts bob their heads and dig the music, which is cool to see, since drum 'n' bass isn't exactly mainstream anymore. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...skey_small.jpg Jason Janik / Special to DMN Customers enjoy drinks and the outdoor fire pit at Whisky Bar on Lower Greenville. View larger More photos Photo store The only downside is the $8 parking fee behind the bar. Thankfully, Miller Lites and Bud Lights are $1 until midnight. People trickle in and out of the Whisky Bar over the course of the night, so it isn't too surprising to find the first floor mostly empty on a recent Thursday around 11:30. House music, which plays downstairs only, throbbed at conversation volume, and colored light circles bounced on the floor. A blonde woman with a tattooed bicep pumped her arm playfully in the air. But the vibe there seemed a bit too club-like for our Miller Lite in plastic cups, so we wandered outside. The first-floor patio enticed with a large, comfy couch. On the roof – be careful on that steep, narrow metal staircase – white lights ringed the perimeter, and a downtown skyscraper was visible in the distance. Most folks there looked content sitting around the fire, clutching cups of beer. No one looked over 30. It was almost like a backyard house party. No one even blinked when a guy next to the DJ grabbed the mike and started freestyling. Plan your life The Whisky Bar: 1930 Greenville Ave.; myspace.com/whisky bardallas What to wear: On Thursdays, anything casual. On weekends, it's up to you. What the music is like: Tuesdays, the 12 Inch Pimps; every other Wednesday, house from Sno White; Thursdays drum 'n' bass and house; Friday and Saturday, Top 40 Smoking: Yes Cover charge: None, unless there's an out-of-town DJ Bottom line: Go for the patio. Stay for the cheap drinks.

yeah, too bad they didn't mention any of our names lol. honestly, the review sounds like it's for whiskey bar, not even the dj's of the night. oh well, props to alvin and nicole for getting them to come out regardless.

We should've been there and had a photo war with the press photographer!
