 | June 5th - June 8th @ Lake Whitney
All I have to say is HOT DAMN! What a weekend. I had a damn blast! Friday night was wonderful...besides me passing out and missing the band that played! Damn cookies. Saturday - a little bit of cliff diving, swimming in the lake, dancing, cooking, then came sunset! The night was awesome. The Psy Trance was freaking me out just a little bit. HAHA! Sunday - after sleeping in the car b/c it was too damn hot... I woke up with my neck hurting like hell! (But then again we woke up every 30 minutes to either people knocking on our windows...or the 5 0 shining their flash lights in our car) hahahaha now that's a fun story. Didn't know you could go to jail for flipping off a cop during your sleep! BIG UPS Jesse!!! I had a wonderful time. See you all in Two weeks! |

Well, got back last night at about nine, took shower and went straight to bed!! Overall I had a blast,missed a few of the normal crew, but met lots of new people, the crowd was right up on the dancefloor for most of Saturday night, then I walked the beach, and people were all over the place! The sky, the weather, the vibe, and the water, were all in full effect. We couldn't have picked a better weekend!! Thanks to all who came out and showed their support!! Big ups to Dawn/Sean for all their help, Meadows/Sabrina for staying the long haul and helping get all my crap back to Dallas, The U.N. Crew for all that they do, Tom B for his efforts, Matt for the speakers, Drewslum for the coffee pot, Darth Vato for coming out and kicking some ass with their reggae/ska vibe, and Brent for terrorizing the pokees when they showed up, and all those that do their part in helping with the trash detail. You all are appreciated!! As for the officers/park rangers they showed up Sat. night about two or three in morning and really were just looking for minors that were drinking underage, they told us that there were no problems, don't turn off music, just keep the minors at bay! So we rocked the night away until the next day without any other altercations, no arrests were made, some minors got caught w/ a bag of whipits, 6 strands of dank, and all the cops did was confiscate it, without any arrests, overall I would say that that is pretty cool on their part! Wish they would have left us with the dank though!! We look forward to seeing everyone at the La Paz festival with the Tribal Elements crew representin in full force!! Just two weeks away!! Can't wait to do it again!! If anyone has any pictures of the lake party please send them to us so we can post them on our profile for others to see!! I'm an idiot, thats all i can say...i had no car, no gas, no money, no ride to get 2 a ride being offered...damn'it....wish i coulda been there...did anyone record....

positive people took over a little corner of whitney this weekend. beautiful to be around people like that. well worth the drive. missed some of family who couldn't raise the gas fund (ride share ftw!!!! thats what we did). great music. thank u for letting me play records for a few hours. nothing like throwing yourself out there and admitting "i am not an official dj" to get some great pointers & help from my brothers. cause the official djs were plenty and in full effect. big luv to erik & scott & mark miller for doing so much pointing & explaining. its shameful how little i ever tried to learn. monica really inspired me to just practice & have fun with it. & i was so pleased to see catfish rocking the hard beats. i remember him playing 3 years ago & now, well... right the fuk on man. well done. it was good enough that my ears perked up & i had to take a peek at who was playing. wonderful conversations. learned about quanah parker from cody. & talked about bad movies with ryan. stayed hydrated. swam in the lake. explained to to the minors that they should stay in school, don't smoke crack and throw away their evidence. hi capt. obvious, leave no trace also keeps you out of trouble. we picked up more trash than in years past it seemed like. had to remind a lot more people to do the same. but there were lots of new friends there this year & i'm glad we can help show them how to camp. or maybe it was just windy... but the wind was nice in the heat of the day. had a nice surprise when leaha showed up. didn't make it to whitney till saturday cause friday i worked on leaha's character letter (don't forget LEAHA's fundraiser is THIS SATURDAY at ABSINTHE LOUNGE with PSYTRANCE a go go). got home last night. didn't go to the cosmic twins bday bbq yesterday. too tired from too much fun. thank u for making this happen once again jesse. i talked to the officers saturday night too. they just wanted to know how old everyone was and that they people sleeping in hammocks at 2am were ok. They asked why that person was sleeping & we said "its late." hammocks are for sleeping lol.

But yeah FYI you can go to jail for disorderly conduct for flipping off an officer! They were out there to get the minors. These were the SAME cops that stopped Jeremy on Friday afternoon...They were laughing and shooting the shit with him. They knew who "we" were...and I quote - they said this....*HICK VOICE* "ARE YOU THE GUYS WHO PLAY ALL THE TECHNO FOR A FEW DAYS THEN PACK UP AND LEAVE???" Jeremy said "Yes!" The cops said have fun and put on sunscreen! HAHAHAHA | |

oh oh but since most of us are going to la paz in 2 weeks here are my suggestions for not melting in the sun: 1) pitch your tent in the shade (possibly near the water or on a high peak where there will be a good breeze) 2) wear comfortable walking shoes (especially at night when you can't see), your feet will thank you by making you less tired. flipflops are only good for water, they don't protect you from yourself in the dark. 3) drink at least one bottle of water for every beer/alcohol you consume (i only drink boozing at night due to heat). any time you go for a walk, bring water. that weird headache the aspirin won't fix is caused by dehydration. water water cha cha cha 4) dancefloor = camelbak (see #3) 5) sunscreen, a hat or a nice umbrella will shade you from the mean ball of fire in the sky. take defensive measures. some people go extreme & sleep through the sweaty part of the day & only roam at night. /hugs
