Zombie Rave @ Green Elephant 6/13

Got there around 12:30 and there was a nice little crowd there. I got my first drink and hung out inside for a minute, but the music wasn't my cup of tea. I'll admit though, Ruthie's mixing was on point and she had some people shaking their ass.

Strolled outside and heard A-Dub laying down some nice and smooth, yet deep and bumpy shit. Some of the basslines in his tracks were stellar and got me noddin my head. His girl was doing him right by being right up front and showin love for her man on the dancefloor. (Can you call it that? I mean it is gravel. Word to the women, don't wear heels to that place.)

Then Ernie came on, and played some tracks that were very interesting. I don't know what it was or really how to describe it, but it kind of took me back to my raving heyday. Groovy, funky, vocal, dirty, and many other adjectives would be fitting adjectives for what he played.

Austen got back up at the end of the night, and there is one track that really just popped. I turned to 4-Peace, and simultaneously we said....."Damn, I like that."

dude, I got there right behind Rich (heh) and I had a blast! I got there for a good 30 mins of Ruthie's set, a little ass shakin and bullshitin. Much love to Gilbert, but I spent most of the night outside after that; i couldn't help it with the shit Austen was spinning. Didn't recognize any of it either, but it definitely got the head nod goin. It was only a few tracks before Ernie got on, though. Dude played some sick tribal sounding faster tempo stuff, that surprised me coming from Ernie. Then my boy took us back with "Nasty Girl", which reminds me of strip clubs, not that I go to them, but the ones I saw on Real Sex once. Then, after another really inexpensive large crown and coke, Ernie comes with Axel F, the fuckin jam from Beverly Hills Cop! but I always associated it with the Cubs games on WGN as a little Kenny in the 80's. Me and my brother would go "This is my break dancing song!" and spin on our backs on the living room carpet and shit. Ahh yes. I wish I woulda got there sooner, but I got to see Kim all zombie raved out and enjoying her party, I got to see Ruthie, I got a nice little buzz on, and I fuckin raved the fuck out for a good hour and a half.

Oh and I got to see so many good people out tonight. I won't try to name them, but I had to sit back and realize, it was all the people I've known the longest since I moved here. That definitely contributed to the absolute raveness of the evening. OMG PLUR

between the drive up from atx and recovering from the rza rave the night before i was in true zombie form. made it out just in time to hear kyle layin down the clitoral bass in the main room and spent an hour shake n bakin it on the dancefloor with my peeps.

yeah I puked in a trash can. I was fucking gone. tuaca shot after tuaca shot. sorry I left, but I was just too overwhelmed with everything while trying to manage even being able to talk, or not feel dizzy.

I love everybody. I want to thank everyone who played for my party, and arthur and colin, you guys rock! even being sick from partying to hard, I had a bad ass birthday and thanks everyone who came out! Everyone made this a great night for me!

last night was awesome got to see so many familiar faces and finally met my former enemy Audri j/k audri!

I saw Kim as she was leaving. Happy birthday, girl! To all the djs - nice job, everybody rocked it. Was great talking to and hanging out with everyone that I *kind of* know from the board. haha

Good times. I accomplished my mission of getting fucked up.
