Meltdown Summer Edition 08!!

Great party. Good vibes and some good old faces speckled with plenty of new blood.

All the sets I saw were great. Green velvet didn't disappoint me, glad I went inspite of the ominous radar shots I was looking at from the NWS about the rain. Never more than a sprinkle.

But of course it's too bad that it had to be somewhat somber for a lot of us. Paul will most certainly be missed. Never seen so many tears at a rave. The memorial in the main room after Drop the Lime was great. Had me choked up and I barely knew the guy. To all my friends that have taken this pretty hard, I love you guys, and I'm so sorry for all of our loss.

Who else went?

Yep. Can't believe that people questioned why he was headlining. It looked like he was having a good time up there too.

Just a few tracks I spotted, aside from his own:
Lil Louis The Story Continues
Vitalic LA Rock Song
Plastikman Spaz
DK8 Murder Was The Bass

Question:
How to keep the video bar full without playing garbage?
Answer:
Book Scotty and Gilbert. Wow, that was good stuff!

Caught just a tad of Drop The Lime and it seemed to be going off pretty tough.

PS Good to hang with Big Kenny and see John Walker and few other peeps.

I got there early before it started so I could see Mali when he opened the video bar.

After his set I listened to a bit of Jayson Gold then drifted outside to catch Randall Jones fucking destroying it. The dude is really talented and I hadn't seen him before. Superb beatmatching and phrasing. Teaser build-ups before bringing it back up again and dropping into some sick new bass line. Kinda a techy progressive set. Definitely adding him to my list of people to see when they make a Dallas appearance.

There was a light rain coming down for most of the night before midnight which was fine. I think everyone was enjoying it. Not a Dave Aude fan but I listened to most of his set because DnB was going on in the other rooms and that isn't my cup of tea. Floated around a bit to see what Jeremy Dawson was playing and I wasn't feeling it so I went back outside to chill with a couple people (while Acosta was playing and all the kids wete raving it up) before leaving.

I was worn out from the last 2 nights out and the early start to the evening so I got out of there around 1230.

Good show overall. Great light setup. It was fun with no tent and light showers... rave rave rave! The door and everything seemed pretty efficient and the porch was more under control than usual, in my opinion. I didn't stay late so no thoughts on the headliners. It was great seeing so many come out and party though!

It was good to see a lot of you... had fun in our little rave circle: Mali, TonyN, Chad, Jayson, Stephanie, Locklear, and others.... haha.

Till next time!

I HAD A BLAST!

great sets everywhere!!

I love meltdowns so much! It is great to wander around and hear great music in every place you go. plus the people watching is choice!

SO MUCH FUN!

I had a great time playing some techno with a hint of trance in the video bar. Just a little food for thought ... REPLACE THAT MIXER major bleed problems, headphone output is weak, missing almost every knob, etc etc etc

beyond all that, i battled my way through and played a set for the kiddos

my only other complaint of the night:

Dave Aude, George Acosta : turn down the volume a hair. Louder is not always better. Major distortion problems out there but seemed to be resolved by the end of acosta's set.

Green Velvet was ON POINT! The beginning was kinda slow for me but he turned it to all out mayhem. Very very very sick tunes with great overlays.

Thank you mr word and co for another GREAT event!

I loved it!

my body is physically TORE UP from dancing for 4 hours. I danced during Green Velvet's set from start to finish & loved each second of it. I did get all googly-eyed because of the strobe lights going off but it just made that stage so much more intense. It was really sick to look up & see the stage lite up like the Gravitron (Starship, carnival ride)! It was also funny business w/the loads of blow up balloons outside. I loved looking at ppl hit those at hard as they could or when a ball on someone & they would look around wondering what had just happened.

Yes, Titian was fucking it up! I actually went to dance & saw two high heels in the AIR! Some dude was grinding a chick up against the dj booth! Titian plays music you want to grind to! lol...

Then went to hear Drop the Lime. I got on stage JUST SO I could look down on the crowd & see how they were responding. YES! It was so nuts. I noticed there were huge monitors there - I haven't been to the lounge in a while, but I'd be staring & start dancing like the chick on the screen. Whoops!... Liked the UV spots lights in the main room, nice fun touch.

i had no plans of going whatsoever. me and husband went to Old Monk to have some beers and dinner. good beer too cuz at midnight i looked at my clock and said "green velvet goes on in less than an hour..wanna go?"
glad we went. we stayed solely to hear him and DANCE OUR ASSES OFF..then went home. i only saw a few people...jayson and stephanie..wow i can't believe you guys are dating!! fuckin cool!! then i saw kitty and we both were out of breath from non stop raving.

when we walked out some chick looked like she was OD'ing on the curb...don't miss seeing that crap at all

but we had fun. it was good to let loose and see a few peeps after so long

WOW! Greeeeen Velvet did it for me. Total mind fuck and I wasnt even under the influence of anything except beer. Really loved him doing his vocals live over his original tracks! Got there later than I wanted to cause I was playing Moosh with Felipe Avelar but I heard bits of great sets by Titan, Trimmer, Acosta and Mr Bates n Perj! Kinda bummed I missed Audes set cause I was on his guest list but our time slots at different places were almost parallel. Him playing 1015 - 1130 and me playing 10 - 11. Good to see J Walker, Mr Gold n Sharper, Mr. Word, Mr. Bates, Mali, Perj, Locklear, Poppin, Chaser, Mr Trimmer, MJ(Eden), Booth, Landon(Subtle), Steve(Fully FUNKtional) and Derek(Spike D).

Cant wait til October!

Thanks Jeremy for another amazing Meltdown!

alright, i had to work so i didnt get there til 2, finally got in with scottie(scottie plz don't mention suite anymore, say im the resident at zippers). Green Velvet was playing some cool shit outside, but i was trying to get to Drop the Lime. He starts out playing some shit and singing over it, and then proceded to murder it. When i say murder, i mean some Jeffrey Dahmer shit. After about 2 songs we make it over to the Dj booth, with Juan, Ty, and Kyle, and reamer. I don't really know how to decide how to descriibe his sound other than NEW. The crowd seemed about 50/50 on whether they dug it or not, albeit its a younger crowd, because i probably jumped around for the first 20 minutes, and then would look up and some of the peeps would be kinda just standing around.

Dude is talented performer nonetheless. He sang over a few more songs, our crew went nuts, and i left. Honestly, it was one of my top 3 performances of the past year. and i've seen some pretty heavy hitters in that year.
