Mayhem Festival - Slipknot, Disturbed, and a plethora of other bands

I got there just before Disturbed.

I should have waited to arrive until after they were done.

They were seriously the most boring band I've ever seen. Everything they did and said seems so planned out and formulated. I took nothing away from their performance at all. Sorry to all you Disturbed lovers out there; I just don't get the hype at all.

Once they were done though, the real mayhem came - SLIPKNOT. I don't care what YOU think, but I THINK they are one of the best live metal bands around. Corey's singing blows me away. The new masks were absolutely sick!! Standout songs for me were Prosthetics, which is just a sinister, fucked up track. And of course, People = Shit, which they kill every time.

There are so many of them on stage and theres so much going on that I cant decide if I want to freak out and bang my head, or stand there and just watch. Slipknot to me is going up there with those bands that I can't ever miss, no matter how many times I see them, I never tire of their show. And their fans are the best, they are so into it! People showed up in full Slipknot gear with masks and everything in the 100 degree heat.

Oh, I know their dj gets a lot of shit (especially from the drum and bass crowd) but I have to give him props. Apparently on the first night of the tour in Seattle he was dangling from one of the drumkits and fell down and broke both of his feet. But he was still up there doing his thing with boots on both of his feet.

Heres a few crappy cell phone pics -

I've Seen Slipknot before...I really liked their show.

As for Disturbed - DAMN IT I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY WERE IN TOWN. I do like them...sucks that they were not all that great. Their CDs ROCK though.

i didnt think anyone on the board would even give a shit so i didnt post anything in the Link Up forum. Next time i will though.

ps - I was seriously annoyed by all the Ed Hardy gear at this show. WTF x 1000000000 at wearing some designer shit to a slipknot show.

makes no sense.

I was never into the new school metal stuff so I didn't go out to this.
