Weekend Concert Review

How was Ozzfest? More specifically, how were Ozzy and Metallica? What was played? What was the crowd like? How was the venue?


I went to eat to eat sushi Saturday night and then headed to Superpages to go see YES. As soon as we got close to the venue I knew something was wrong. When we arrived it was completely empty. Not a car in sight. I double-checked the tickets to be sure I had the right date and I did. I got these tickets (free) over 4 months ago.

Somehow, I missed the announcement a couple months back that the show was cancelled. So we went to Barcadia, drank it up for a bit, then went to see Dark Knight where Amy passed out for the last hour of it.

Oh well. I'd still like to know why the show was cancelled.

I saw that you called on Saturday, but after the fact (close to 11 PM). Glad you two kids still found a way to have fun.

You could've gone home and played all their albums instead for the missus with a bottle of vino. I know you own them all.

I called you around 8 when we got there to see where you read about the show and to see how updated what you read was.

It was funny... I have NEVER in my life had that happen to me. We felt kinda violated when we were leaving.

We had a good time though. We got the high scores on Galaga with a couple beers and Patrons. We didn't want to go chill at home on a Saturday night, but we didn't want to go to a club for oontz-oontz-oontz either. Movie was a last minute decision.

I enjoyed the movie, although I may be one of the only people alive who thinks the last one was better overall. Don't get me wrong... I didn't think anything was necessarily wrong with it. Ledger was fucking amazing. Harvey was great too. Batman's deep whispery voice was overdone though. And the story-line seemed kinda jumpy to me. Just my opinions though. Still a great flick.

Oh, and I honestly don't think I own anything by YES except for one vinyl copy of 90215.
