holy moley what an adventure. spooky was absolutely amazing. initialization string repped texas right & had a huge dancefloor rocking it. jah roots was alright. breakbeat buddha killed it. & mark miller has psychic dj abilities. i swear i could hear him a mile away walking through the magickal forest & knew it was his set. how does he always know just what i want to hear? amazing. nicest friendly people everywhere. 40 degree nights. rainstorm on saturday morning. yeah for nasa inspired undies. woot to the hoo! organizing left something to be desired. roughly 1/2 mile from 2nd stage to magical forest. about 3/4 mile to the main stage from there. and if you walked the road instead it was over 2 miles between stages. wtf? not a very clever idea (but at least there was no sound bleed). beautiful natural space though. lake was lovely, only time i saw it was during tai chi at the serene stage. thank goodness the hayride trolley ran 24 hours a day. still took a minute to wait on transport, but thankful to have a way. dome in the magical forest looked amazing. dawn decorated it with lovely lush fabrics & the parachute made it weatherproof i would guess. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the bonfire on saturday night. what a delightful sanctuary to reward the people who hiked through. i would tell people at the other stages that the magical forest was the secret soundsystem. ppl sure love to spread rumors lol. much love to whoever brought the dubstep. i heard more of the magical forest on the walk there than while i was in the dome lol. put up my camp in the dark with no clue as to my neighbors. what a nice surprise for breakfast to find myself surrounding by like-minded energies. lectures were profound to say the least. i have some new things on my reading list lol. lecture with spooky, daniel pinchbeck & jamie janover about the relationships between technology, sound & consciousness was mind blowing. (why they had spooky's lecture 1 hour & 2 miles away from where he spun records doesn't make any sense though. but the lecture was worth the hike). my tent was really close to 2nd stage. i had a perfect location to hear the sunday morning lectures about raw food / body chemistry by Viktoras Kulvinskas & the later one about unified field theory with Jamie Janover while i put up my gear. i took my last journey to the magical forest while walking away listening to a panel discussion on free energy. i had an amazing time even if i need a nap today. i understand the distance & weather were a deterrent for many attendees but the organizers had positive intentions with this event & i am deeply grateful for all their work. thank you for opening so many young eyes & making this happen. the concept behind this event was inspired. my hope is that many new projects will be born from the paths that crossed this weekend. crosspollination ftw!!

Nice, I'm glad that went off well. I really wanted to go, but after being outta town for 2 straight weekends, I opted out. I really needed to chill domestically and take care of things. Kinda unrelated, but I thought about you just now, HKM, when I dosed off at my desk with my head phones on and Ramones' "Not my place in the 9 to 5 world" came on and woke me up. The song starts off with an alarm clock. Now that's a punk rock alarm clock!

Im jealous. Did Alex Grey start a new painting? I saw him and his wife start a new one together at a party they did at their studio in NY once, it was such a cool experience.

I'm glad the event was a success. I wish I could have been there, but I am very glad I stayed. The gamelan event was a HUGE success as well. The concert itself was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! The video camera broke, but the recording came through wonderfully. The chancellor and the dean of the music department were raving over my catering and deco skills (thank you Dawn for the loaner fabric! Wish you coulda seen my shadow puppets!). My relationship with the professor that is chair of the board hosting the Asian arts events on campus has taken on a deeper mentor/student sort of level. This evening, she and I attended a lecture art show featuring David Gibson, Reiko Imoto, and Osamu James Nakagawa, which was amazing as well. I can't wait to begin the guided music and imagery training under her. This weekend was the beginning of a very long journey... delving even deeper into the interconnectedness of art and music, and their simultaneous use as a means of self-discovery and expression. By the looks of the reviews here, my drrty girls seemed to have had a very similar weekend, via much different means. Awesomeness. One step closer to the goals.
