My First DJ Gig... - Dallas Dance Music - Dallas nightlife, music, tickets, and more

So, I've been preforming since I first started playing violin in first grade. Did that till my late teens, along w/ other instruments...

Got into electronic music around 12 years when... did some live PA stuff when I first started, then stayed in the studio for a few years. And started doing my electro band stuff a cpl years ago...

So, I've never had much interest in being a wiki wiki dj, but I've finally decided to get music organized so I can do some wiki wiki dj sets. And I did my first one last night.

It was on the 2nd story roof of NorthPark mall, outside of the AMC movie theature. Great spot. Nice view of some of the downtown building. Great weather. Pretty crowd. Awesome Mexican food (the chicken,corn and mayo deliciousness). All the wine we wanted. Robert (from my apartments) brought his dj gear, too, and his Bose system. So it sounded great, as well.

We were to get jiggy w/ it till 8 when everyone would move instead and watch a big fashion show that Macy's had filmed.

So, Robert and I start raving it up. He'd play some techy stuff and then I'd play some vocal electro-remixes(Seal,Calvis Harris - stuff like that). We'd been going at it for about 40 minz when a cpl cops showed up. Then 2 more. Then 2 more cops for a total of 6. Next thing I know, I've got a cop yelling at me to shut things down... Apparently there was miscommunication somewhere and not all the right permits got put into place. So, everyone moved into the theature and continued to drink in there instead. lol

So... my first wiki wiki dj set ended w/ the MAN shutting me down.

So you got the "nod" from the kids comming out of Gymboree and Build a Bear?

You should've flooded the toilets to let those fools know what kind of party this was going to be.
