| DNB Boat Party with Concord Dawn Fri night
I got the chance to attend a boat party with Concord Dawn headlining the gig. The price wasn't so bad, for $42 AU, which included free buffet. I was originally not gonna go but the chances of seeing Concord Dawn at a boat party was slim to none after this so I decided to take the cab instead of a bus and make the journey to King St Wharf where it was docked at, in Darling Harbour.
The boat left a little after 8 and the party was just getting started. Concord Dawn didn't arrive until 12ish by boat taxi lol
There were some other dnb and dubstep DJ's playing there but I can't recall their names at the moment, plus I mainly went to go see Concord Dawn so the rest was at a distant priority.
The experience was unbelievable. This was the first time I've ever been on a DnB boat party sailing throughout the Sydney Harbour and it is something I cannot forget. I thought there were going to be people being seasick but luckily none of that occurred so that was a relief. It was great to socialize with heaps of folks out there who shared the same passion in drum n bass as I did. It was pretty amusing when I was one of the two Americans on the boat and they were pretty cool with it. The aroma of ganja was prevalent, as always. If I have the chance to do it again while I'm here, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
The set by Concord Dawn was also off the hook. I can't be fucked with track ID's since I was too busy dancing my ass off that night, but I know that to my disappointment, Morning Dawn was not thrown in.
Nevertheless, it was the best $40AU I've ever spent for a boat party, especially one playing dnb all night. It was also funny to see other boats sail by with their boring ass parties while ours was hitting it up all night.
