![]() | Legendary Pink Dots @ Granada 11/09
I have never been a huge fan of them, but I went with some friends anyways, and to my surprise it was great. Band was cool: 1 synth guy w/theramin, mpc, and many other toys that I couldn't make out, 1 guitar/bass player (he switched between) who could play really well, 1 sax player who played tenor, soprano, flute, and this strange modular synth that he wore over his shoulder and had connected to some bizarre breath and finger controlled device. Was great to see such an orig. show. Def. worth going to see if you haven't seen them.

![]() | Great show...
This was my 7th time to see the Dots and I have to say it was suprisingly good. The band was great back in the 90's, but I thought they lost something when Ryan Moore left (former drummer/bass). The last couple of times I saw them, they were pretty lame. My girlfriend has never seen them, so I took her last night. Turned out to be a great show. Very glad we went. Also, this was the first time we went to the Granada. Great venue. Friendly staff, good atmosphere...thanks to the band and the venue management. Cheers, Donger |

I went.. Drug the "Godfather of psytrance" with me... He was sure he wouldn't enjoy it because he doesn't really get into the recorded material, but I said to him: "Man.... The Dots are a seminal psychedelic electronic band. You can't go through life as a psychedelic music person without having experienced at least one of their shows. They are absolutely phenomenal, and include a lot of improvisation." On the way home, I got to say "SEE?! I was right!"
