One of the best crowds to play for and hang out with in a long while. (Well, since Homebar two weeks ago. )

The vibe was perfect. Everyone there came out to try and help save the place, so it shouldn't be suprising they knew how to have a good time when they got there.

My apologies to all the DJ's on the main stage that I missed, but I ran as quick as I could to catch the end of RX's set. Turns out RX somehow got an extra hour, so I was happy that I would actually get to see him throw for a while.

And the boy threw.

When RX is doing D&B, he has some kind of magic spell he does or something, cause he's doing these flawless tricks for those of us that like that, and the song selection never misses for those of us dancing. I was doing both, but I am a trained professional. Please use caution trying this yourself.

(There you go, Russ. Can I have that record with the French Kiss sample now? )

well i guess since A LOT of the people were all kindza messed up on something they sure knew how to have fun...and all the dealers who asked me to buy something were having fun cuz all those people bought from them. Everyone i met was on something and could barely say their names, and there was one guy who kept making weird sounds sitting in a little corner by himself.

a lot of people came out ready to dance, but i saw a lot of people who just werent feelin the music enough to get up and throw down some moves. its cool that it was to save the spot to party, but last night i had more fun talking to the old biker looking people that were taking care of security.

If you went to Hawkwood with not too many expectations... ie: this isn't going to be huge insance party, but instead an intimate, chill event... then you probably had a good time.

We showed up at 11:00 to catch Rx spin Dnb... and it was pretty dead in his area... someone was Mc'ing... and Rx continued to play.

Then we popped over to hear the end of Rev Pauls set... as always... very nice... rocking the dancefloor. Heads up club owners... this guy would make a great addition to your club...as what he loves to spin... appeals to a wide audience. Something to think about!

Then R-Type showed up at midnight... and the next thing we know... he left... choosing not to spin (? not sure what was up with that?). So, Rx spin for the next 1.5 hours... totally 2.5 hours! He certainly got to work last night! Hee-hee!

As there wasn't any trance scheduled to spin till 5:00 ish (??)... I basically sat around chatting with people... while I was on my Red Bull high! Ha! To anyone (Elctrawoman) who got their ear chatted off... SORRY!

BTW... thanks for the *real* conversation Electrawoman... you are one cool chica...

Otherwise if ya went to buy a beverage... I was chilling at the Watering Hole with the crew keeping everyone hydrated. Thanks for the entertainment Authur! Wow! Didn't know you could talk that much! Ha!


OH, and Trent was lucky enough to get to spin fire... I hope all enjoyed watching him throw down!

I had a blast ! I got there in time to relieve RX from his 2.5 hour shift and drunkenly tossed down some old skool for the few and the proud junglists inside. It was nice to meet some of you and put faces to the screen and dj names :]

we had no monitor and stuff , but no matter , years of random events like this one prepares you for all kinds of mischief and mishap ....

Big Ballin Colin rinsed out the ragga / afraphunk junglistical flava ( the big booyah ! ) - some geeked out kid in an orange shirt kept screaming bad gangsta lyrics over the decks - we wanted to spit on him but knew he was under the influence of his own lack of mental capacity , he then proceded to do somersaults in the DIRT which proved to be VERY amusing .
Optech served up some darkside discs right after ole BBC and we stuck around until about 4:30 , we were waiting for phil but i guess he couldn't make it out . we stopped by the ole watering hole and then made tracks for the homeward bound interstate .

my 1 beef - listen kids on drugs - DO NOT MC IN PUBLIC , you make yourselves look seriously poseresque , just twirl your lights and keep the bad rhymes in your heads , it's cute for about 30 seconds then it is just scary and pitiful . for god sakes .

After having so much fun last weekend at enchanted, I knew I had to get out there again to support the cause and have a great time! So, even though I had to work till almost midnight, I gathered up my friends and made for hawkwood! I was a bit dissapointed in the crowd...there just seemed to be more people and more importantly, more enegy last time. I remember hearing comments that this was more of a "hang out" crowd, but I really like to just feed off the energy or a pumping, dancing, partying crowd. Went over to the main stage, hoping to catch R-type, but he wasn't even there...(no offense to Rx) Sat down on one of the tables and had a heat to heart conversation with one of my best frineds who was rollin' HARD. (Guess it was the whole emotional bonding thing) Still had plenty of fun, though, talking to people, dancing a little...and I tried out these glowsticks stuck to the end of a baton, and my friends said I did really awesome for somebody trying it their first time, lol. Met a couple people from there last time, met a few new people too, everybody was so cool. Oh, and the guy with the FIRE was very cool. Talked to the land owners (or renters, or something) The guy said that this had been the last chance for them to be able to make it(I'm assuming because it was the end of the month or something), and they needed about 500 people to come out that night, but from the looks of things, there were only a little over a hundred, which would barely even pay the electric bill. I really feel for those people...

E.P. played my favorite set. Probably just personal preference, I'm more into breaks and trance, which is what I produce, than house music.

If you saw some kids dancing while throwing around a glowing red ball, one of them was me. ^__^ I bought it from the guy with all the glowy stuff, and thought it might be fun to bounce around, and some more people joined in, and complimented us on how well we were getting into the vibe without any drugs or anything.

Left about 4;45, came home and sat with my firneds on the porch, talking, and watching the sunrise....It was a great night, overall, and if that's the last party at hawkwood, I'll be satisfied. In case it's not, you all can expect to see me out there again.

All I can say is that this party was magic just like last week. My crew and I had once again the best time of our life. This party and last week’s party will be treasured as the best parties ever. Thank you Nasty_Nate for throwing this amazing party. Much respect to you. We got there at 12:30PM so we missed the great Rev Paul set EP’s set was kickass. We were once again the last people to leave hawkwood at 8:30AM. Was nice to see so many people: Jennifer (I owe you…. I didn’t forget), Elisabeth: was great to meet and chill with you, Karen: was great to meet and chill with you also, Karen (Bunny) was nice to talk to you again, David from last week, was nice to see you again… and I will email you later, David (EP’s friend) was nice to meet you….. hehe.. to many Karen and David - it’s getting confusing. Betty (Electrawoman) was a pleasure to see you again, sorry we got there late..... Rev Paul sorry we missed your set, but we will be seeing you at the Sand Bar.

Thank you for sharing that with us. Very mature party review. See I didn’t see any dealers, and no one asked me to buy anything, so I guess if they asked you it’s because you must look like a junkie. If I were Nasty_Nate I would ban you from any future parties. Lucky for you, he is a much nicer person than I am.

Maybe some of you can’t distinguish between a party review and drug talk. I sure don’t give a fuck to know who was messed up, and who was rolling hard, etc. If you can’t leave drug talks out of here, please do us all a favor and don’t post any review.

I would like to see the admin step in here, because I think that some of these posts are in violation of the rules of this board. If personal drug talk is not allowed, then that includes or should include describing other people or friends doing drugs, being messed up, rolling hard, and worse of all drug dealing. Furthermore, since such statements can potentially damage our promoters, I believe that it would be a very good idea to prohibit any type of drug talk in the party review forum.

I’m sure that I’m not the only one who is seek and tired of reading party reviews that turns into imaginary description of drug usage and drug dealing at our parties.

Tehcnoboy: man, there's no reason to flip out on anybody like that...I think people were just giving their opinions on what the party was like, and unfortunately, there were drugs there...that's just how it was. Perhaps saying this does make the promotors look bad, but that doesn't seem to be the intention of the people posting, and, for example, if in a review someone wrote, "I didn't think the music was very good and the speakers kept popping" It makes the dj and the crew look bad, but that's just a how it was.(according to that person's perspective, of course) Obvsiously, if someone comes in and says something totally untrue, like, "all the DJ's were snorting crack off the turntables!" then someone should definately step in and say something. Phantasy's view on how many people were "messed up" does sound a far feched to me; I don't think it was nearly as bad it was made out to be in that post. By all means, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the "no drug talk" rule is aimed toward preventing people posting threads titled "Top 10 places in DFW to get weed" than causally mentioning that it seemed like a lot of people were messed up at a party. I believe there's also rules against flaming other people...

Actually, now that I think about it, I suppose saying something like "my friends were messed up" or some generalized drug statement without indicating the overall severity of the drug problem at a given party only puts emphasis on the fact that drugs were there and effectively blows it out of proportion. In other words, if everyone who posts just says "drug dealers were there and people I know were on drugs" then it makes the party look like what raves are made out to be by the media, some kind of drug haven, and that's NOT how it is, so if any of my comments might have been harmful to the promotors or the scene in general, I apologize. You guys threw a great party and I'm happy to be out there to support you.

This was a great party. The vibe was nice and Hakwood is one of the best venues in town.

The people-vibe was pretty laid back. Personally, I didn't real feel much like dancing all night and I am not sure why. It may have been that sticky, hot air that makes people just want to chill at Hawkwood. But there's nothing wrong with that! I bet when it cools down more, we will see more energy out there. I did see some folks trying to break in the dirt YOW! It made me laugh and isn't that what really matters?

Oh and to the guys who borrowed my chair, just wanted to let you know (because it was kind of noisy and I couldn't explain) that you are welcome to borrow my chairs anytime! (I think there was just some confusion when you brought them out to the dancefloor to cover up those old stumps.)

Bunny, I enjoyed our conversation very much! Sorry I kept running off. I wasn't trying to run away from ya! (I think in my own self-loathing mind, I figure people don't want to hear me drone on for hours and hours so I always try to keep my conversations short) But if you ever want to hear my life story, let me know and it's ON! You won't be able to shut me up! I gotta lotta great stories to tell. ha ha
