Seriously good show! J Funk warmed up the crowd nicely with some dark techno/electro and crowd fav's while hiding in the back dj booth. Deadmau5 came on and matched Johnny's energy to start it off and then got into a nice nice groove for the remainder of the show. He played a ton of original work (as expected) mixed with some nice floor fillers. He brought out the mouse head again and sported it for a good portion of the set. The ending of his set is what made a fun impression....He signed off with the Super Mario Brothers music whenever your man would die. ![]() Mr Tong came on next after a short intermission to switch around equipment and brought out his energy the best he could but I think it was a little tough coming on after a show like Deadmau5. Great mixing and track selection but it seems the energy left the room with the Mau5. Steph and I still had a great time and we are glad we made it out!! Great job LL and proto!!

hands down deadmau5 fucked that shit up!!!!!!!!!!! he has transistioned into a sick and i mean SICK live act. Never did he stop to let a track play, it was consistant tweeking the fuck out of shit. Last time I saw him was new years 2006 in LA and he was okay but since then has changed his setup completely. Now running the xone 4d and that efx processor he bought from that dude in philli (the one where only 100 were made) and it looked like he had something else up there, maybe an efx 1000? I remember he would demo that xone 3d but when i saw him and several other performances during that period he would run a djm 800 and efx 1000. I was very impressed, if I knew it would of been that good I would of wanted to go. My lady dragged me there and paid so i couldnt refuse. Tong was whatever, nothing impressive, good track selection though. But his skills as a dj is nothing I would consider world class unless it was just a bad night. shaolin in the back was putting on a WAY better show than tong. Anyways, mad fun at this one. Despite all the hatred from when he came out here last, this man is no joke. I still don't know if I would consider him a bonafied PA but for what it is whatever we wanna call his sets, it was one not to be fucked with. I take back all the shit I ever said about him. I will for sure be out when he comes back in town! |

I was not able to attend the Dallas show but I did catch the Houston show with both of them. I was surprised to find Pete going on first but he opened up proper. A solid set with great tracks I could not ID. I'm sure some were from his TONGFACTOR/Bedroom Bedlam project. Deadmau5 had many on the fly remixes of his songs and the crowd went crazy all the way until 3. He even danced up on a platform behind him at the end. Bar Rio was a comfortable venue for this big show. Here's video footage from the event. I thought I would share since it was probably similar to them at The Lizard Lounge... Enjoy! |

Pete Tong posts his funny moments in Dallas via Beatportal. LOL "More car drama the next day, the dreaded family saloon was back and ran out of gas on the highway about three miles short of the airport..." http://www.beatportal.com/feed/item/...-diary-dallas/ |
