Frankieboy did a fab warm-up setting the mood right for the night. Had the crowd turnout not been so thin, this night would have rocked. Eddie came in at 12:40 or something and did what he does the best. The guy is full of energy and it really shows in his sets too! Great set by Eddie, excellent warm-up by Frankieboy but a fairly thin turnout.

i cant believe this place wasnt packed!!! dude... everyone I went with all agreed it was by far the greatest set we have ever witnessed. his scratching, his sick ass mixing, his cuts and all his track selection was just sick. he threw it down so fuckin hard it was just pure madness. it didnt seem like the other people there knew what was up. they all seemed like they were just there to have a good time which is cool but it didnt seem like eddie had many fans there. I never thought there would be a dj to bounce out zabiela but friday night it was a done deal! and sno... jw and i went down there, not much going on. we bought a drink and went back upstairs. |

Well, he usually plays the LL, so it might be why it was a thinner crowd (21+ @ Plush).

![]() | Re: Eddie Halliwell @ Plush I feel for the promoters that it should of been a bigger night for their financial aspect. as far as for my friends and I we enjoyed how much room we had to dance. how personal his set was for us. I had a chance to talk with his brother and actually crawl up in the booth and get a pic and say my peace and leave by giving a hug. I would of never had that opportunity at Lizard Lounge. It goes to show no matter how many people are in a club he's gonna throw it down like a fuckin gangsta!!!!!!!!!!!

that is a BAD ASS dj when he still puts on a performance, even when there is a small crowd. Eddie is amazing. Sucks to hear the crowd was so thin. =(

Well, the last two times he has been here... he hasn't pulled a crowd... not even at the Lizard Lounge. I use to love Eddie. LOVED HIM. Promoted my ass off for him. And you know what? He sucked ass the last two times he came here. No energy. No scratching. BORING really. After the last lame show by him, I swore off wasting my time to go see him. Just not worth my time and energy anymore. So yeah... maybe if he hadn't blown the last couple of times he came before... you might have pulled a crowd at that club. Maybe.

In fact, we decided to bring him to Trees... and his first US appearance, because of a free CD that was attached to MixMag. THEN...we make a lot of copies of that CD and passed it out to get people pumped about seeing him. The show he did at Trees was amazing. He blew it up. Even people who hated that genre... were impressed. Then we brought him to the Lizard Lounge (2004?) and he blew it up again... the house was packed out... couldn't even walk through the place. He was brought back to the Lizard Lounge a couple of years later (not by myself, but the club) and he was different. Like I said. From what I heard he was trying to be a more serious DJ. But that's not Eddie. Eddie is tricks. And when he stopped doing those tricks... he wasn't as great. People can tell you how I bragged and bragged about how amazing he was. I believed it. And anyone who is reading this... who KNOWS my history in this town and on this board... knows that I would be the last person to say all of this if it wasn't true. Because a few years back I would have been the last person in the world to ever say it.

been in the game since 99.... as i said before he probably was going through a rough time in his life or something. Was he laughing? Cutting the music off and yelling at the crowd? did he shake ur hand and everyone elses hand that came up and cheered him on? Dude there was hardly anybody at plush for that night and he flipped the fuckin charts. I dont think it had anything to do with trying to be serious, he could of been tired, sad, or whatever. I just played 2 weeks ago @ onyx, maybe three weeks and was DEAD fuckin tired had no sleep the whole week and was burnt the fuck out. I tried drinking to get me in the mood and i go to the bathroom and throw it up. I had tons of shit going on that week working overtime and I hardly did ANY tricks at all. I spun my set, went to the cabana and literally fell asleep. My buddy woke me up when the club shut down and I was like Damn, sleep felt good. See him again on me next time, I'll buy you a drink and we'll get that faith re-established that eddie is the man! I wish you went to it. it would of reestablished your faith. All I am saying is it was probably a bad night. think about how many flights this guy is on, how much sleep he gets, how many different systems and situations he has been through. I give mad props to the international djs who bring it everytime... or almost everytime i guess from hearing about your situation. sorry to hear | |
