I was not clear. I should have said I never heard anyone say "Plur" at the event, but the concept could be seen shining in about every heart. They say (yes, the ubiquitous they) that a second R should be added to make PLURR and the second R was evident as well. One peace officer who stopped by to enforce the peace element of PLURR told me it was one of the most responsible parties he had ever seen.

BTW, I wore a T-Shirt with the word "Unity" on it. Some folks thought that was a PLUR term. Others thought it made reference to setting mixers and the like. Some thought it was a religious term, or should have because that T-Shirt started life as a religious item - a gift to me from a follower of the B'hai faith. But for me, it simply said "not-ity" Or, it might mean something more like Teamwork. Eisenhower told us teamwork wins wars and he should know. We are in a war on boredom!

According to Mad Magazine back in the '60s it was because nothing is more peaceful than a dead man. Probably unfair. After all the mission of those who carry really big guns is peace, and the fact is those guys want peace a LOT more than anyone else.
