there were loads of people producing that sound before anyone knew who steve aoki was. By the time he hit around (late 2007), that sound had already peaked 2 years prior.

i never even heard the term jesus pose till i came here. I dont see the whole big deal about it. I'm not turned off if a dj puts his arms out to the crowd like "you feeling this" or "I am here" Oakenfold took it to the limit but people like cedric gervais for example it works and doesn't come off docuhe to me. Maybe dallas is more conservative and looks to judge anything bad about an artist. Probably why the scene isn't what it used to be.... Everybody judges everybody they don't like. I've traveled the world and never found musical judgement like I do in Dallas. If you dont like it, dont go, if you go and dont like it, thats your taste. Speaking out irrationally about someone you don't like is tastless!

We just don't care what the DJ thinks of himself. We want to hear the music. Fuck the ego trip. Not surprising that you would stick up for the jesus pose though.

I, and many others, do not perceive the "jesus pose" as an ego trip. The "pose" is a way of expressing feeling toward the crowd during euphoric moments.

I am not surprised to find that you hadn't heard the term before since you don't seem to know much of anything. No one needs to know that "You are here" We can fuckin see you!!!!!! You yourself are guilty of Jesus posing and I am sure that you saw someone else doing it and thought it would be cool until you came here and got made fun of. You do have a point in saying that Dallas can be a bit harsh when it comes to criticizing artists but we do it because we are spoiled, we know good music and when our ears are subjected to anything sub par we will gripe about it.
