Real DJ's play the fucking music, get peoples asses shaking, get peoples heads bobbing and leave the theatrics for the pompous egotistical fucks so we can easily spot where NOT to go. You wanna get into the music, raise your hand, let the crowd know the track you are about to drop is going to be banging, go for it. Get the crowd hyped. That doesnt mean stand on the table and throw your arms up like you actually made the break happen when all you did was put the needle to the record. And really, Tiesto dropping down from the fucking rafter in a box and then appearing behind the decks? come on now!

What's the difference between raising one hand and raising both hands to the side? How can one conclude that putting both hands out makes a dj full of himself? So if you raise both hands high up in the air is that the "superman pose" ? Is this an ego trip move as well? What about when a dj points to the crowd? Does this mean that he is pointing and laughing on the inside at how much better he is than you? These "poses" are being over analyzed. On a different note, I do find Tiesto landing on stage in helicopters and things of the like to a bit over dramatic though, lol.

Wait a minute...... He did what??? Landing on stage???YOU FUCKING PLAY CDS YOU DOUCHEBAG!!!! And yes ANthony, the term Jesus pose was not coined in Dallas. It's a term used worldwide. And is also an action resorted to pretty much by trance djs only. It's all about ego. It's the DJ equivelent of an Ed hardy shirt. Djs are not rock stars, not saviours, and not icons. That shit just looks retarded. I mean come on. And whatever about"euphoric moments". Every form of music has it's big moments in the tracks. Everything from house to drum and bass, and in none of those genres do the djs stand there with their arms out like they've just saved the world with a synth arrangement. Getting the crowd hype by dancing and clapping grooving and WITH them is one thing, but that other thing is just drawing attention to yourself. It's not suppossed to be about the DJ, it's about the music. The DJ is merely a catalyst or middleman.

Damn... who cares what he does, how he gets on stage, or what he plays. Its a 'show'... its not music in a vacuum tube.

Also, I feel that most of the DJ's that jesus pose during their sets are either, one, playing out epic 10 minute tracks end to end or two, trainwrecking half their shit (Oakenfold is guilty of both these offenses). These DJ's need to do more work behind the decks for their 20-30k checks. Just sayin. PS I have traveled around the US and been to many shows over the years and it is primarily lame trance or hard house dj's that jesus pose. PSS I always associated the term electrohouse with the early 2000's electroclash phase. It seemed to spawn off that heavy synth sound. However, it all really came about after the electro revival of the late 90's, Nu-electro stuff that was coming out of Detroit and Europe, primarily.

![]() | Re: So how was the Tiesto show? LOL, we care a lot about the music being played at a venue. It's just that none of us really care to talk about the music Tiesto plays.....

And lol at djing being " a show". Since when is playing records a show? Paul van dyk damn near brings an entire studio with him when he plays and actually PERFORMS, if any trance dude had the right to act like a rock star it would be him.......and yet he doesn't. Hmmm.

Well i wasnt there so i have no concrete evidence, but someone who was there said he walked off stage 1/2 way through his set either do to the sound, or him being too fucked up. Then i guess he was supposed to go play at Rich's but decided to g out with some strippers instead. Dont know how much of that is true, but i found it rather hilarious when i heard that.
