![]() | Techno From Tomorrow Heard Today!!!!
Hi people, whoever went to the Red Blood club last night to check out Maetrik and Ill76 know what i mean when i say: THAT SET WAS THE SHIT!! It was obviously the performance of the two best techno djs in dallas!!!!!!! I feel sorry for all the people who decided to go somewhere else instead. It was quality music, and great dancing material! It had to have been the most unbelievable performance by two djs I have ever seen!! FUCK WHAT YOU HEARD BEFORE!! this was the most amazing thing, and i cant stop ephasizing! All the people that saw it know what i'm talking about! all the people that didn't better reconsider the next time they see either maetrik or ill76 on a flyer! you gotta check em out, they freakin rule the tables like no other djs around here can!! btw, I made some great pictures of the night, and i'll post those asap... bernhard |

I think it's clear by now that my support for Maetrik is something more than just "support" for a friend....the talent these guys posses leaves me in a state of shock every time I hear them (both Eric and Lacy). The music they play (and more importantly, make) is not only unique, futuristic, inspirational, and driving, but it's also got a lot of class. It was nice to see Dallas out and supporting these cats. I had no idea who was doing what for the entire DJ set...kinda trippy to see two guys on two sets of decks cuing, mixing, tricking the records in and out...all the while quickly stratigizing amongst eachother their next plan of attack. I think I speak for everyone in saying that it was a fascinating site. I felt like I was watching a live PA more than a DJ set. Nice job boys, - jv -

true indeed. last night was definately a rare one. hopefully it will continue becoming less rare. eric & lacy layed down an amazing set of futuristic minimal funk flawlessly fused. very nicely done as always. luke saredello & keith pillars worked it out also. listening to these guys is like a ride in the time machine. it was a rare treat to hear luke and keith both dropping techno on 4 tables. it was so nice to see everyone out. thanks to minto & gerard for the Convextion EP, it will recieve much rotation. also thanks to jason massie for the cd of your tracks. what i've heard so far is dope! |

I left that place after eric and lacy played and I was dumbfounded. It renewed my spirit and passion for music. Ye who missed out, did just that, missed out. This had to have been one of the most awe inspiring sets by two of the most musicly brilliant people I know. The next time you get a chance to witness this, you better not waste your time...

I will definitely keep an eye out for their next gig. However, no need to feel sorry for those of us that were at Danny Howells. We came out just fine over there. Sounds to me like there were 2 great events takin place friday night. Two amazing sets from two different genres all in Dallas. Hopefully I can check them out next time they play. peace doug d

![]() | the deepest night I have heard in many years
mos def! last night was truly something special...thanks to you guys for doing this, especially for us old guys. Eric and Lacy played so deep and so good...it was truly amazing! those who did not come out missed one of the best nights in many many many years...and after eric and lacy played, luke and keith probably played the best set I have ever heard them play in about 8-10 years... these guys taught me what techno and house music was about at the tender age of 15. The classics they played were unparrallel and you will probably never EVER hear them play techno in Dallas again...it was very rare I assure you. great to see all those guys out. this was a proper techno event...you new promoters should take notice...this had my seal of approval. best things I heard last night - luke playing an old DJ International record by ESP...many others too...keith dropping Kaos by derrick may (you don't even know how hard this track is to mix!), keith dropping "distant planet" by larry heard. Luke playing this new UNAI track on substatic I hadn't heard as yet. thanks to lacy for pointing that shit out to me. I lost my shit when I heard Ma foom Bey by Cultural Vibe. Eric dropped M4 by Maurizio and Lacy was dropping little snippets of Rhythm and Sound record here and therein the mix. If this is any indication as to what this party was like...you know you slept if you weren't there. peace - minto Last edited by downlow; 11-03-02 at 02:39 PM. |

| Sweetness in the mix
My ears are still in aural ectasy with the sounds I heard Friday night. The set spun by Eric and Lacy was so deep and mesmerizing I forgot to breath at times. I'm still in awe. Keith and Luke schooling us with old and new school house. Absolutely a great tag team set. Thank you Keith for bringing that Adonis track "sweet". It was an impeccable set with a collection of tracks that would make a true house collector drool. I got there early enough to hear every bit of all the sets and did not want to leave even when the house lights went up. For everyone that did not make it out, sorry you missed out on an awesome night. And to the cowboy that was holding up the pole for most of the night I hope you made it home Ok.
