Ascend First off... this what a party is about! The venue is a hair salon by day... and party place by night (not often though!)! If you have been to the psytrance area as Massiv (II and III), then you KNOW about the awesome decorations they pull out... TIGHT! The lighting... and "sculptures" were awesome... and perfect as always. We got there at 10:00 to hear Skywise... great job man! Really enjoyed your set! Took me back to New Year's a couple of years ago.. hee-hee! I wasn't sure of the line-up after that... but ALL of the music was quality! Real grooving. The vibe was just right too... like I said... this is what a party is about... you come to the venue... RESPECT the venue... go on honor system to purchase drinks... in's and out's... no trouble caused by anyone... because everyone respects the event. Thanks Mist for caring enough to work so hard to put this event together.... it was very nice! To all the people I chatted with... sorry for talking your ear off... guess I was in mood to talk! Ha! I had a great conversation with Annesta... thanks girl! And with Aaron... thanks too man! And.... Josh.... and the list could go on! Great seeing everyone out!

Hey, maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are you saying that people can only post positive reviews in this thread? Uh, don't you think that's a little odd? I mean, what if movie reviews or album reviews were only allowed to say positive things? When I read a review of a party, I'd like to hear the good and bad, for a truer perspective on what the party was really like. I'm sure a lot of people worked hard to make this party happen, and we don't want to hurt anybody's feelings, but unless we address the issues at parties that need improvement, things can't change for the better. Probably respectful and intelligent criticism is the best way to accomplish this. Uh, anyway, not trying to start any drama or anything, and I do want to hear what you think. Later! ~Evan |

I think Bunny was just tired of IHateNarcs posts. From the previous thread, it appeared that everyone had a good time, including myself. IHateNarcs had way too much alcohol. Like I said many times, alcohol causes serious brain damage, and IHateNarcs is the perfect example of what alcohol does to you. A word of advice to everybody else ((( DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!! ))) The music was amazing, the visuals were badass, the only complaint I have is that the room was a bit too bright (static lights). I come from “warehouse type” raves with little or no lights at all, it’s very hard for me to get completely wrapped up in the music, as I love to do, when the room is too bright. All in all I had a great time, and it was nice to meet David from UMPROD, and it was nice seen everyone else I know. Many thanx to Mistical Productions for throwing this party. |

Can a person give a "I didn't like the event" review? Yes. Can they do it in a POSITIVE manner? Yes. IHATENARCS does NOT give his negative reviews in a positive manner. There is always GOOD and BAD to any event... and people can state BOTH... the negative reviews on the previous thread were mindless and stupid. Anyways... this thread will self-destruct soon!

Hmmm..... I'll have to remember what the heck I said the first time (actually track down an email that has the same text), and post that later.... so a more detailed review to follow. In the meantime, we @ Mistical Productions had a great time putting "Ascend" on for you. We're already planning our next 2 parties for Jan and March of next year. Keep an eye out for more info on those. And of course, you can always join our mailing list off of our site to keep posted on all of our upcoming events and appearances.

![]() | Bunny: Ah, okay I get it. I agree completely. It's all about the difference between constructive criticism and hating. There would be a lot less drama and a lot more done if the former was actually done more often than the later, but unfortunately that's not what's "in" right now. ~Evan |

![]() | OK, finally as promised.....
Here were my original thoughts on the party..... All I can say is.... "WOW!!" Many, many, many smiles to everyone who came out to "Ascend"!! D: Without you guys creating the hella-tight vibe, the party would not have been what it was. It was good to see all of you; many of whom I'd never seen out and about before.... All of the DJs put forth fantastic sets. We hope that you enjoyed them. All these up-n-comers... Look for more appearances from them soon!! I received so many comments/compliments on all of the DJs... Skywise pulled forth an excellent opener, starting the evening off right with some progressive breaks and trance. klapton picked it up a notch, starting off the psy for the night just right. By the end of his set, he was cranking it out... and that's where Phaedrus from Austin took over. The pace picked up a bit more, and after an hour I took the decks, tried to add a bit of aggression to the mix.... Dylan mixed in, and took us on a journey of the "old school" in full frantic style. Teksus went on after that, and impressed the hell out of everyone. After a full evening of rising pace and vibe, STDJ out of Austin slowly brought everyone back down to a gentle landing on Planet Earth. All in all, brilliant sets all around..... Many thanks to Troy, Julie, and Aarron of Psymbolic and D.O.T.... They worked hard all day long creating a visual atmosphere unequal to any other we've had at any of our previous parties. Fantastic job!!! If you were there, you know what I'm talking about. Amazing original installations, and crazy twisted mindbending art and interactive multimedia projections.... Vitamin Packed's system took the cake, rounding out the evening with some thick sound. It was the first time we'd ever worked with them, and they were really nice guys, great to work with. I'd recomend them to anyone looking for sound!!! And I hear they do lights and DJ as well.... Extra special thanx to Dylan, for the additional sound and gear, and all of his hard work as always. And big hugs to Keith and Jackie for helping out with beverages, and in every other way they could. Big thank yous to everyone who worked at the event in every and any way. It's just too hard to go it alone, and you are so appreciated!!!

WHatEva, this party seems hyped up on this board. As somebody said above there was too much light and too much fucking sobriety for a psy-trance party. Seemed peeps looked bored and many were leaving early. What's the point of having all that cool psychedelic imagery and tribal drums unless everbody is just wanting to be trendy in some sixties poseur kind of way? What a waste!!! It was Haight-Ashbury missing the key ingredient. Seemed just too shallow. "But your house looks nice!!" I guess I'm spoiled on kickass parties. There was one interesting thing that happened outside in the parking lot: Did anybody see a dude with the visor eating out some brawd in a white 90's Pontiac Grand Am with the interior light still on? Hahhaha.
