Ok... as there is a thread about the "Worst Show of the Year".... I figured I would start a positive thread... so... what was the BEST show of the year for you? For me, it had to be the night of EDDIE HALLIWELL... I was BLOWN away by what happened that night. From Eddie going nuts on the decks... to all my friends showing up and sweating their butts off from dancing... it all came together into one perfect night. Of course... there are SO MANY others that can be mentioned here... but that stands out the most.

Theres two shows that really stick out in my mind as being the best sets of the year. I can already see people rolling their eyes when I mention Delta Heavy and Danny Howells. The energy overall at Delta Heavy was phenominal. People standing in their seats going ape shit till the very last song. I've never seen that place explode the way it did. People say prog djs are boring.......well, four thousand people dancing that night didnt seem to think so. Danny Howells - Again people will say whatever they want to say about progressive being bog standard and whatnot but that night Mr. Howells showed everyone that progressive can be house can be reggae, can be breaks can be anything and everything that will make people shake their ass. That last track he played stood out in that I saw people rush from the back of Seven to the dancefloor just to get down. Greatness.... |

Sasha and Digweed @ Delta Heavy (Memorial Day) The energy in that room was incredible. Everybody was feeling it. The tracks thrown down by Digweed and Sasha were phenominal. Definately one of my favorite shows of the year. For those of you that were there to experience one of the best shows of the year were lucky. I've never seen a duo work so good as Sasha and Digweed proved. The ending track, Cosmos - Take me Away took my fucking breathe away, as it came on I look backed and realized why it is I go to partys. It's because of moments like this. Paul van Dyk @ Meltdown 4 Was nice to finally see one of my favorite djs put down a good show and left me impressed. I think Paul van Dyk is very diffrent though live, he throws down some darker tracks I never thought he would do. |

Not to sound pessimistic, but this year has been pretty slow in the Dallas area. The best party so far for me would be Event Horizon, but on December 31st, 2002 I'll be at this party and that'll probably take the cake.

are you serious??!!?? Dallas promoters have made this a SLAMMIN' year. NO, there wasnt a party every weekend, but they totally represented to the fullest when there was a show. AND, there is a BIGGER party in the UK than that on NYE. its like a TOV VS. Breakin Science. Andy C, Hype, Zinc, Loxy, Dylan, Ed Rush, Rush, Bad Company, Friction, Raiden, Trace, Nicky Blackmarket, Brockie, Kane, Swift, Randall, INK, Moving Fusion, Wildchild, and Ray Keith. YEAH. i would go to that one personally. but thats me. anyway, my best show of the year would have to have been Bad Company at Trees when all 4 of them were there. dope as absolute hell. _travis_

I'd have to agree on Danny Howell's and I'm not exactly a "prog head" but there was SO much energy in that room. I'm suprised the place didn't implode or something scientific like that ![]() The Gumball 2002 Race brought in to town 1 amazing DJ...Tipper. OMG his music has the BEST basslines. Tipper was at the Lounge in May (I think it was May) and he ROCKED IT! DJ One's Birthday Party at the tunnel had a BAD ASS VIBE. The Private Aftershow Mixmaster Mike gave at the Lizard Lounge showed true character and was an amazing display of his incredible skills. Definitely a highlight of the year! Deep Nova...as soon as they step up to the Decks the atmosphere in any room changes...either that or they've been spiking my drinks. Listening to DJ 4-Peace's CD in my car has been a good party at times this year too. Damn...there's so many more. |
