Miss Molotov Played tribal and prog. My favorite track was the first one, and people were dancing throughout the night! Different night at the lounge but very cool. |

This was the first mix in months I've heard on KDGE from the LL that I liked. Then again I only really dug the first hour of her set, once they started talking on the mic for eternity I stopped listening. The feedback on that guy's mic(not Merritt's) was obscene.

She was cool as shit. No doubt. I had a great time. I felt like complete shit due to illness but I was feeling better right after Molotov's first track.(it was the new Moloko track"Familiar Feeling"Timo Maas on the RMX) Had a blast! Cheers, Johnny Funk |

If you are on heroin, you think a someone banging on the walls sounds pretty fucking good! It's not ment to elevate those who do appreciate prog. I hate punk, but I'm not saying punkers are lower than me, just different in their tastes. Thanks for calling me out on that bro. I didn't want to start a genre war. cheers, Johnny FUnk |

I'm not the biggest prog fan either. But it's something about those drums I heard in her set....always gets me to dance. I really liked her set...

To listen with free ears. . . don't need drugs to do that. Some things about the current state of 'prog' bothers me, being from the old school of it, but there are still GREAT progressive DJs out there. . . DJs whose sets are progressive, yet the tracks they pick rarely ever fit that narrow stereotype. . . It isn't as immedeate, but the loops that only slowly evolve over several phrases framed with intricate percussion is in itself hypnotizing. . . But ya gotta actually pay attention for that to happen. I would never call it intelligent or cerebral, because that implies other forms like big beat is not and that's not the case. . . It just requires more effort from the listener to truly appreciate the subtle richness off it. It's less immedeate and I think like many more abstract forms of music can only be enjoyed through appreciation. I do love to get down to some dubby funky very IMMEDEATE house as well, I've got room in my tastes for a wide variety. Thanks for not starting a genre war. They're sensless. how can anyone attack a form of art that they don't understand? |
