New Years Eve/day In Review...

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!!

I know what you're thinking, 'that Week In Review dude is back'... just thought id drop a review of my NEW YEARS EVE/DAY excursion...

went down to Orchid a little before 10pm w/ Mo & hung out there where what started as a night that will go down as THE BEST FUCKIN' NEW YEARS EVERRRRRRR!!! Orchid was off the mutha fuckin' chain as Seth (i think that was the name of the dude that opened the night on decks - please correct if wrong!) did an awesome job opening up the night w/ some cool-ass house grooves... then Adrian & Shaun Slaughter followed suit as they layed down some pretty phat funky house as did Blair Brown & the greatness that is John Walker!!! Orchid was packed & the vibe fuckin' ruked!! It was great seeing alot of my friends in the same place for a special event like this... then MIDNIGHT hit!! It was pandomonium from there!! good pandomonium!!

After getting the champagne & water shower treatment at Orchid I headed over to the Art Gallery in the West Village for the Zero-State shindig where Darren D, Doug D & Brillo were spinning... bruthas & sistas I felt really bad for my Ridgeback bruthas b/c they were playing some dope-ass choonage but no one to listen to it!! The party was a no-go!! Then it was off to NTrain's domain as he & hhis wife did the staying-in & partying thang!! By the time I got there at 4AM everything was all chilled & mellow...

got caught up w/ the goings on in our lives & then it was off to ClubONE for the final leg of my excursion... main room was pretty dead at about 8AM even though Redeye was dropping alot of phat choons, but Lisa's Lounge upstairs was straight-up (no pun intended!) ROCKIN'!!! J-mutha fuckin'-WHO was tearing the Lounge a new HOLE!!!! Then comes in the person who just totally let me have it!!! Teresa (of Met Management in San Francisco - if info is wrong please correct me) graced the decks & just educated me in the world of house muziq!! this chica is pretty fuckin' awesome as there were so many people in the Lisa's Lounge that they shut down the main floor & let the Lounge stay opened (from what I heard anyways!) But yeah! She did it for me!! her set capped off the greatest NEW YEARS EVER!!!!!!!

I just want to say thanks to all of those that I was with the whole 14+ hours that I've been partying... outside of family, I just wanted to be w/ the people that I love the most for one special night!! YOU ARE MY FAMILY!!!!! Thank you very much everyone!! Right now I'm still smiling & still fuckin' awake!!! But this feeling I have right now is going to be w/ me for a long fuckin' time!!

I showed up at Club One at just before 4am last night. Since I've only been to One twice since I've lived here, needless to say I was a little unprepared for the mass of shirtless gay men openly doing, uhm, everything on the dancefloor. At 4am I was up in the DJ booth, talking to this very large woman(a manager I think?) trying to figure out why there was no floodlight setting on the light board. I ended up hanging out there for a couple hours talking to Mikey and Tamara, drinking OJ and trying to figure out how the hell I was going to make it up in time to watch the UT/LSU game.

Club One is a trip. I had a good time though, Mikey is always fun to talk to.

Mikey is a fuckin' riot to talk to as well as a helluva fuckin' DJ... Its hard (no pun intended!!) to believe that a straight guy like me frequents ONE & The Village Station... you get used to the shirtless queens after a while though... just wait till they hear a song that they can sing to, then its awn from there!! LOL!!!

thank you for the kind words tim! it was packed up in that tiny room eh?

i got to give props to tamara frist of all, just for being badass. really really dope shit. it was a pleasure to finally get to hear you. i was in a bad mood when i got there cause my whole evening had gotten screwed up, but you changed that very quickly. i stayed for about 30 minuites of teresa's set, and once she got going, you couldn't stop her. i wanted to stay for the rest of it, but my body was lifeless, and i still had a little over an hour drive to get to what i call home.

i had a blast playing (though it was kind of impromptu). thanks for being an awesome hostess lisa. i had a great time and would most definitely love to do it again. damn, was it rockin' up there or what? as for feb. 1, lol, ???

shouts out to all the new people i met last night, to timmers (thanks for kickin' it with me back there), tamara, mark and raul (for always being there), fernie (glad you had a good time bro), shawn, mojo. thomas, roger (check your pm's!) and shelly, ben, and anyone else i may have seen or met that was not included on this list. i'm still tired as fuck and am about to try this sleep thing again.

Thanks, JV!! I've always had a soft spot for groovy, trippy, surreal techy breaks, but until recently the crowds didn't dig 'em. Glad to see the ears are coming around!

Everyone's set's were FAN FUCKING TASTIC! I LOVED EVERY SONG. And for such a snob like me, that is nigh impossible.

Club One was a riot. I showed up as the Circuit boys were leaving and all us guys with REAL flesh on us (or not on us) were showing up. . . Thank god. Those Ken dolls can give me the CREEEEEEEEPS. Had fun DJin in the Lisa Lounge and thouroughly enjoyed Lisa's hip-hop comedy scratch DJ stylings. It was as if Judy Tenuda put down her accordian and took up the decks. So everyone ALL YOU WORTHLESS SLIME!! Get down on your KNEES and worship LISA Goddess of the Kitchy-Kat Lisa Lounge!! LOVE YOU LISA!! After that set I played an almost two hour set of DEEP, groovy, trippy, BASS HEAVY downbeat as we all anticipated Redeye's New Years Day set, and HE LET ME HAVE IT!! I have a list of wax a mile long I trainspotted form his set. Rockin true Redeye styleeeeeee!

BEST NEW YEARS EVER! Thanks to all who took me on the ride of a lifetime.


Oh, and don't forget my b-day party is comin up. January 16th at Orchid w/ Craig Mitchell AKA Oliver Twisted, NYC (Pipeline, Twisted, Mindtrain)!! 9-2. . . Come wearing orange. It's gonna be OFF THA HOOOOOOOOOOOOK!
