817 vs. 214 @ Open

what a night. it started out mellow with a buuuunch of old skool folks in for some big throw down that the owner was having. i dropped the deep-n-mellow until about 11-ish when dem boys from the 817 showed up: Tech4Crew.

they brought out some serious rekkids. i was ready to start ramping it up with some vocal/disco house, but Culture & Scholwinski [luis & eric] just kept dropping some niiiiice soulful/west coast tracks. they also brought another dude out with them. i'd never met him before...Will. this joker came with some deep tribal stuff that had the walls pulsing.

the combination of the 4 of us rocking it and the owner having a throw down drunk-fest [he was behind the bar making noise and handing out shots -- jaeger at one point] that they just threw open the door that connects us to clearview.

:it was SO on after that.

the room directly through that door is The Black Light Room. the music in there is whatever is being played in blind lemon. in other words: retro. when they opened that door and that crowd hear the vibe and energy that will and i were taggin on, they aaaaaall came over. it was sweeeeet.

all in all, i haven't had that much fun in a loooooong time. i'm thinking we need to do that again some time. april? may?

oh and even the prog-idal son returned to Open for the first time in a loooong time. timmers a.k.a. Tim Crotch made the scene. "nobody heard nuthin'!"

Yes, yes. Last night was soooooo fun. I had a blast dropping bombs at the peak time with John Vella. Glad I could keep the energy at that high level. I've never seen that many people packed in on that small dance floor like last night. Truly amazing. It was nice to meet everyone I did last. John thanks for having us out there and will be looking forward to doing this again real soon. Thanks for Culture and Eric for bringing me along for the ride, something that wont be forgotten anytime soon. Overall what a night, great drinks, pretty people, and bumping music all night long.

Thank you John..I was definitely having a great time. I think all the pretty people were at Open last night. I can't wait til we come throw down again.
