Another WMC synopsis

Let's start this off right
WMC is expensive as hell but is a damn ass great party week
I did the wednesday to Sunday voyage that (judging by the plane back) most Dallas peeps went for.

Wednesday
Get in afternoon sometime and me and my friend Alana who came with me go for a stroll along the beach. A long way down we look for an entrance into where the house music we hear is coming from and find ourselves in SkyBar. (Later when we leave we realize we unintentionally snuck in through the service entrance as we pass by the real line.)
Alana sees a friend from Dallas at the Skybar and after going back and changing the group of us go wandering around. Can't bribe our way into BED so we all end up back at Skybar for a Global Underground party. Its free to get in because a couple of our friends are staying at the Shore Club but 10 or 12 bucks a drink! Still this guy is trying to impress Alana and buying us all drinks so its a free night for me. Very VIP type affair that everyone else in the group loved but was too old and boring for my taste. I did get to yell at movie starts across the pool though and that's always fun.

Thursday
Space for Sasha and Digweed and Sander Kleinenberg on the terrace. $60 cabs and $40 cover. Sasha and Digweed have the main room packed when they start spinning and Sasha is really into it jumping up and down and being very untypical Sasha.
Spend alot of time chilling on the terrace listening to Sander who I had never heard before and wanted to.
All the sets - even the warm up guy in the side room - were great but I don't think Sasha can be less than great. With Sasha you just try to be there on the nights he is perfect. its all progressive house but its all very good.

This is a good time to mention how since everyone is coming to party hard the club is still going hard at 8 in the morning. Very very good vibes at Space.

Friday
Hit Nikki beach for some low key house before trying to head over to Level to meet some friends of mine from DC. Alana is too slow in the high heels and other distractions keep us from getting to Level until the line is too long. So we head over to Crobar where there is no line and $50 to get in. Timo Mass is spinning. The last time I heard Timo it was one of my favorite sets of all time but this time he dissapoints. Apparently Puffy was club hoping that night cause he also elbowed Timo out of the road to take center stage at one point before going over to get more attention at Space.
Alana makes up for the fact that she mooched off of me and is not paying any part of the hotel room by getting us in with some VIP's who keep champagne, bottles of vodka and other stuff coming our way all night.

Saturday
NO Sleep for me but Alana is too tired so I head over to Ultra alone at noon. ULTRA is amazing. The lineups are sick sick sick.
Its an incredible party.
A couple notes about FLorida ravers. They must have something in the fluoride down there because the girls make Dallas women look like unkept mutts. There were alot of crazy beautiful people milling around that made the silicon girls at Crobar and Skybar look old and ugly. They also apparently ascribe to the belief that we are beautiful and therefore we don't dance - I must be in a thousand pictures and home videos as the dancing cowboy hat wearing Texan. And even more disturbing they are rude ravers. They push and step on people all the time. I talked to a few Florida people about this and they said its a macho thing they got going on.
Still ULTRA is just an amazing party. The lineup is unbelievable, the weather wow and the people watching endless fun.

I'm sure planning to be back next year but everything is expensive in SOuth Beach so if your going to go have enough cash so that you can enjoy it. Either that or follow my friends strategy - be beautiful and flirt flirt flirt. And pack stuff you can sweat in - humid hot hot humid.

Hopefully I'll see more Dallas peeps next year


Oh needed remembered addition. Getting a cab after Ultra ends at 1 am - Impossible. Had to walk down to space with about 1000 other people with the same idea and grab one when the people were arriving for Space. (70 bucks after Ultra to get in to space and my back was saying no more - please no more so I passed)
Well worth the trouble though for Sasha, Digweed, Underworld, Seb Fontaine (who was real good at Ultra), Hybrid, Donald Glaude, etc etc --- Ultra is worth the trip alone.
