Didn't make it. I wussed because I was sick most of last week and did not want to deal with the rain and four hour drive from Austin. The word is they had a pretty good time, though, despite an ample supply of wet weather. You can read a review HERE

Despite misgivings about the rain, we went ahead and drove down Friday night. It rained all the way down, and we almost turned around at one point, but we knew that somebody would still be out there with some music regardless, even if it was just a bunch of people crammed into a car with the stereo pumping.

As luck would have it, the rain quit just as we got there at about 4:30am or so. The party was pretty hard to find, as my car wouldn't make it down the beach at high tide, so we hoofed it for about a mile, then got a ride the rest of the way from some fisherman. When we finally got there at about five minutes before dawn, they were just starting the system back up, and it was all good from there. The music went all day, despite a five minute shower in the afternoon, and the occasional skips from all the sand blowing into the decks. It was too hot to dance, so we just went swimming and relaxed under in the shade all day. Things picked up again around dark, and we stayed until about 2:00am. At that point, we had to get back to Dallas for some family stuff, so we reluctantly pried ourselves away and drug our sunburned, sand-encrusted asses back to the real world.

All in all, the venue was incredible, the music amazing, and the people were as always top notch. Got to chill with Miki & Co again, which was great, and met some cool new folks. Next time, I'll be sure to get a hotel room near the party though, as it's really nice to get out of the sand sometimes, and a shower would have been great before the drive home. Overall, I'd give this one a 9.5 - next time all you fuckers need suck it up and make the drive. No excuses!
