Midnite Matinee~Awesome

Since most people must have been at KandyKanes no one has mentioned Midnite Matinee, so here it is......

If you were not there you just missed out.
This venue will soon be the place to be and be seen. It is absolutely immaculate!! Were talking leather "chill" couches and the works. All painted walls, Trippy artwork to look at, tons of tables and chairs, a bar with a limited amount of; food, water, red bull, gatorade etc. A full club-like light show, boomin sound system~And the dj booth~Oh Awesome~very art deco and right on the dance floor. This was not your everyday trashed out warehouse party. Ruby Worx has thought this thing through.

We did not arrive until after 2 and weslee (Techsun) was groovin with a sweet and flawless progressive/tribal kind of set. At 3 Taki came up with a nice progressive set. I heard a few trains coming his way but its all good, great set. ~BUT~ at 4am (just when most people were arriving) SCOTT SIRENZ busted out the first house track since 2am and instantly the entire place was bumping. Everyone from the little rich kids to the strippers to the ravers to the club kidz were moovin and groovin. He had the place bumping for a full hour from one house track to hard house and back again. Absolutely amazing. I have'nt seen such crowd reaction in many moons. ~Dj's take note~people who dance like a little variety~ At 5am (just when a lot of people hit the floor_couch_etc. something happened to the dj who was supposed to spin so Paul Cantrell came up early~AND~if your into trance take note Paul's extra long set was absolutely flawless. Awesome trance set with a little variety to keep you on your toes.

We left right before 6am and everyone we left say they were dancin and groovin till 7am ish.

Ruby Worx~excellent party~can't wait until the next one. And don't worry we will make sure this venue is packed.

Since you didn't get there till so late, heres my review of the previous DJs.

When I walked in, Thumbz was throwing down some groovin tracks. as luck would have it, durring his set the power cut out to the decks and the overhead lights 3 times (i think 3). The first tight set of the evening (but not the last)

Then, I was supprised to hear some phat DnB from Evil Lee. This guy threw down some pretty badass tracks. I was glad to hear some DnB. Another tight set.

Kilowatts jumped up to the decks and layed down more groovin tracks. This man has some unrecognized talent. The mixes were smooth and the tracks were flowin. And again, as luck would have it, his set was cut out twice because of power outages.

Uchin was pretty tight to. Nice track selection. I would have gotten into it more if Julie wouldn't have given me a handjob on the dancefloor. ;-)

The highlight of the night was Wes Lee's set. He had some flawless badass mixing. This was the highlight of the night.

We left shortly after Wes Lee's set. I was glad I didn't go to Kandy Kanes cause I heard the DJs wern't all that great. The Location was badass. Nice little swinger's place with all the nude shots of the female body you could as for. Great Music + Great Location = Great Event. Can't wait until next time.

This is the venue everone’s been waiting for. Very tight! Good vibe. Great visuals.

We got there during Wes’ set. As usual- deep, dark, and damn good! Good to see all the crew as well.

Taki followed his lead and keep the beat dark and hard.

THEN.... Scott Sirens (who’s name will surely become synonymous with D/FW) threw down the HOUSE. He had everyone on their feet, and stuck it out for a bit longer than expected without missing a beat. I’m proud to have this guy as my newest partner in crime. Green House has made it’s mark!

We had to leave before Paul took over, but I heard he keep it going till the sun came up.

A great time over all, and I’m looking forward to playing here in the future.

I really liked the venue... not to mention the naked women projected on the wall... awesome touch! For alot of the night it seemed pretty slow... no one dancing, I damn myself for leavin early now... then again, that's how it goes sometimes huh? All in all, I did have fun, and heard some good trance in the process, so I'll def be at the next ruby works party

Hell yea the party was great, I was pretty happy with my set, even tho the power went out thrice. Everyone else I heard that night threw down a great set as well. Well what a night!
I had a blast!!!

1st off, that was my D&B premier. Normally i play house, breaks, trance; but i knew that was going to be played later in the evening. I had fun w/all my buddies hypin' it up around me! Couldn't have asked for more...thanks sooo much for coming out!!! oh, well i could have asked for the mic to work...but considering the sound didn't go out for me...i was thankful!

I left while Wes Lee was finishing up....awesome set Wes! I liked a loooooooooooot of your track selection and the mixing was flawless! And the sound didn't go out! whooo hooo! =)

DJ Thumbz totally tore it up! IF you haven't heard him yet, you better get on the bandwagon before everyone else does!

Uchin....awesome set! I hadn't heard you before, so i'm definitely glad that i got the chance on saturday! You had us all bobbin' and weavin' upstairs!

Robert...i told you to stop worrying! heheh I hear it got more and more crowded the later it got...congrats on a great night homey!!! Thanks again for providing me the opportunity to change up the pace w/the drum and bass....

People, you make the party. It is all about you, all about having a good time, and getting you some good LOCAL talent, and keeping the scene clean, and the vibe thick.

Had "someone" come up to me the next morning and say "thanks, first party I have been too that I NEVER got offered drugs". That made me feel like I had accomplished something. This "couple" never stopped all night long, did not get off the dance floor once, just this would have been enough to make the night worth it.

Earlier in the Night I missed allot of the sets still trying to get things together.
Sorry about the power, they had all the amps, tables+mixer, lights, overhead black lights, and absurd amount of X-mas lights running off one circuit. Seems as though once we moved most over that it resolved this issue.

Wes's set was one of the dopest cleanest sets I have heard in a while. I had a massive number of people come up and ask me who it was that was spinning at the time, and remarking on his skills. Watching Wes work his magic over the crowd is in itself magic. You can feel so much energy emitted from this guy, would be an amazing show with NO sound.

Evil Lee I think surprised us all with his mix of DnD into the all house and trance line up.

Scott Sirens, here is one to keep everyone's eyes out for. He totally tore it up. Had everyone moving again...

And just think, when I asked if he could go for a while longer he said he would try. TRY? I think that you blew the roof off in that last part of your hour and a half long set.....

Paul Cantrell, who needs no introduction in the Trance scene. Flawless hour and a half mix of some much needed beautiful tracks for the last hour of the night. Paul don't think that it was that dead, the VIP balcony was still totally packed and moving.
Again thank you for helping out and spinning that extra 30 mins.

THANKS for all other DJs that night, without all of you there would NOT be a party at all...

Also thank you all that donated food, I am sure that it will help out.

As long as this place can continue to be respected as it was Sat night then we will continue to hold these private parties for all you friends out there....
Those of you that were there now realize why respect is so stressed here. I will do my best to keep the parties on a more intimate more personal level. Although I know owners of clubs and have access to venues I choose to have them at private residences and have private parties. I consider all that attend a friend old or new. I feel it an honor to be able to meet each and everyone of you.

I know there was some discrepancies in some things and I can assure you that in the future there WILL NOT be. It is hard working with friends that do not see eye to eye on what you have envisioned. Most conflicts have been worked out, and if things can not be an kept an asset to yall and the DANCE Movement then I will stop my effort with my current crew.

So to date there are already a few parties being planned with Ruby Works within the next few months. So be on the look out.

And I can not stress again how much I thank you all for coming out.

I've gotta give all my love to Ruby Works for a really excellent party last Saturday night. I haven't been able to dance 'till dawn in quite a while now, and Paul Cantrell really blew me away. It was also really nice to party with adults for a change - no e-puddles, no dealers, and no drama. The venue was excellent, and the vibe was really laid-back.

Thanks again for a rockin' good time, and keep up the good work!
