Heres my rant for the day:

I walk in early as hell to see Red Jacket littered with Wild100.3 everywhere and that already arises anger. Why would Hot 100 support Aphrodite and why are they in the same room with them? Sean Sparks is in the main room goin' off while I travel around and see (and smell) e-tards getting ready to eat there pills and the ones who already did are wreeking (sp?) with vicks in that corner of the room.

More people start coming in some random fuckin' DJ come on and I'm like where the hell is Jeremy Dawson and Kid Icarus?!?!? It ended up being some DJ from Hot 100 and I flee to the Ruby Room to hear Demarkus and Scott Pace. They threw down some tight sets. Anyhow, as the night progresses, I start running into everyone and there mom and I get another handjob from Julie. (whats new?)

Kid Icarus finally comes rocks the fuckin main room along with Jeremy Dawson on his side. Now i know why I'm hear. I dance for awhile and then more drunken yuppies off the street come in and start takin up precious dance space. Then, I heard everything stop and I knew the man of the evening was about to throw down. Finally!()@#*$ Some goddamn DnB! I was hoping that some of the clubbers might jet when they hear 180BPMs hittin the speakers but I was wrong and they crowded in more. All the dance space was taken up and if you wanted to get your groove on you had to flee the the upstairs or outside so upstairs I went. I ran into some peeps up there while listening to some DOPE ASS MOTHERFUCKING TRACKS being thrown down by the man. Anyhow, the show closes at 2:30ish and I flee the scene. Its great seeing and meeting everyone (Mojo, Sean Sparks (bad ass set by the way), darki, Julie the child molesta, gumbi, etc..

Alright first off, this was my first (and last) time to Red Jacket. I walked in around 11:30 to hear Wild 100 whoopdie dooo. There was NO ROOM AT ALL in there. Guppies everywhere, wanna be ravers..man..no offense to anyone but I hate that place. Everyone was f*cked up in some way(most e-tarded already). I just leaned against the wall most of the time being bumped into by everyone. Kid Icarus and JD threw it down real nice like..I got to actually dance for half an hour. Then I heard everything stop and I knew it was time for aphrodite..mad nice skilz .. his trax were awesome..slowly but surely I'm becoming a junglist..DnB is fast-paced and energetic..too much for the kandy kids and e-tards. I loved it. Awesome night for the music..but not the venue or the crowd. Hm...new club anyone?

Ok.... So I'm not a Red Jacket fan... But I go for the musik... The place was really crowded... And yeah it was stocked with drunk yuppies and etards... Some punk thought he wanted to start shit... But his gf was smart and got him to shut up... But like I said.. I went for the musik...

I got there early enough to FINALLY hear Sean spin.. Great job my man, great job. I got one of his CDs! Next up was DJ Spin.. Yeah he works for Wild100.. But he did a good job.. Only complaint was the radio freindly Prodigy... "Smack my Bassline"? Ugh... Next thing I know Heaven opens up and the music pours out... Yeah... Kid Icarus up on the decks... Awesome.. It seemed he spun a few overplayed tracks, which is something I never hear him do, but I suppose you have to play to the crowd some and the crowd was full of mainstream folks... Then Jeremy Dawson got there... Started out progressive but got back to epic... Him and J kept switching off... THAT was the reason I went. Thank you Jeremy and Jeremy. I wound up leaving about 12*30 becuase the place was just too packed and I'm not enough of a jungle fan to deal with all those etards.

It was great getting to talk to Julie, Arthur, Sean, Mojo, Thomas, Derrick, and everyone again. A few of my crew actually made it out too. All in all it was a great nite. The music really made my week. And in 12 hours I'll be at the BB watching Sasha take the tables... Can we saw perfect weekend?

Last nigt tore the roof off!!! I have never had so much fun, to me last night far surpssed MD3 and DFKK! SSean Sparks....first person i heard threw it down!He pulledout a phatset, and at the fist of the night Sparks was passing out his CD and i listened to it on the way home and that man has skill. Icarus and Dawson made my night, I saw Dawson at MD3 and he fuckin shreaded, andevery time II see Kid his sets get better and better! Anyway, last night was great untill, half the ppl there got drunk! Which really kille my groove cuzthey are staggering around and all thisshit. And then there was the other half that were looking and or taking rolls along w/ other messed up shit. But oh wel last night was still one of the better parties i've attended!

WARNING: I'm about to start a rant regarding about how much I dislike a popular DJ. If your easily offended by my comments then don't read beyond this point. You have been warned...

I really don't understand the fascination with Aphrodite. Take a listen to more than 2 or 3 of his tunes and you'd realize he uses the same drum kit, with the same (slightly modified) carnival bassline, and some random hip-hop sample thrown in so Joe Blow can identify.

I interviwed him in a hotel room in Atlanta in 1998 and he told me, to my face, that he uses the same pre-sets for EVERY tune...he's completely unashamed about unoriginality in his production.

He's a cookie-cutter-produce-by-the-numbers-non-DJing douchebag that thinks he's garnered some sort of undeserved respect because he did some good tunes 7 years ago!

Years ago he and Mickey Finn were producing some gems (Bad Ass was a tune), but when 1999 came around Aphrodite was STILL producing the same shit and even his OWN PARTNER (Mickey Finn) denounces his sound and proclaims "jump-up is dead", its time to make a fucking change...

Sorry for the rant folks...but as a DnB supporter and promoter its depressing to see people get up on this guy's nuts when he's no better than the DnB version of a Top 40 DJ. There are MUCH better, tighter, classier folks rolling through town all the time and attendance is less than a 1/4th of what came out to Red Jacket last night.

Jump up is shit...bah...I'm glad you guys had a good time, but did you actually LISTEN to the tracks he was playing? damn, I'm sure they WERE the same stuff from 5 years ago....he never changes.

i have to agree with downinit... there were too many rollerific kids there... and i saw a lot of the clubrollheads freaking to aphrodite... i mean... i guess its cool to do you own thing... but when i feela man's boner rubbing on my ass while im just standing there or dancing... it kinda is uhm... DISGUSTING... also i wanted to be funny and dance in the cage... but some glow stick girls kicked me out... but i got in later and acted like a drunk stripper...

however... all the djs did an awesome job...

and when you go to a club to see a dj.. you have to expect club kids.. and it shouldnt shock you when they try to fuck you through your clothes on the dance floor...

Too bad most of the people that attended don't realize that he was playing tunes that 32 Degrees was playing back in 95-97!!!! He said he felt like he stepped in a time machine to the first 32 Degrees parties at Dread N Irie.

Even though I'm not a DnB junkie like Wes.... I've noticed the same kinda crap about Aphrodite... Which is why I left after Jeremy and Jeremy... Aphrodite is like Oakenfold... Great CDs (studio work) but live they leave you kinda blah. I've been partying for over a year now and I'm really starting to notice something... The best music seems to come from our locals... It's great having good national talent come thru (Planet of the Drums, Tiesto, Sasha, Dawson) but locals are bustin it up like madd.

ok my thoughts on it *sigh*

the first 30 minutes of his set was good but in the middle it got well... boring, he did play some OLD tracks that is unargueable but since i wasnt into the electronic music scene back then it was new to ME and im sure a lot of others. he did throw down some good tracks but i'd say after the first 30 minutes it would be like 15 minutes of mediocre tracks before a good one was dropped. the end was nice and i did like the way he dropped body rock (yes i LIKE this track!!!) haha then some other track and then into shake it. i however DIDNT like how he dropped the no scrubs remix track. damn that track sucked to close the night. anywho ya i think aphrodite makes too many average sounding hip hop dnb remixes but he does have some real gems in those crates of his. plus he cut his hair! maybe this is old news i heard but didnt see him @ cyberfest so i dunno...

oh and Jermey VS Jermey was the SHT i just wish that Kid Icarus would forget about Red Jacket (it really does suck and wtf $8 for parking is TOO MUCH) and go back to One on thur nights or bring his events too Trees (awesome venue) i would think the turnout @ feelgood would encourage him to bring more headliners there but who knows. personally i hate red jacket and im not sure im willing to go there again for a headliner plus all that wild 100 crap is SOOOO annoying expecially when they start talking over the song like "who do you want to give your shout outs to?" haha i did however hear while driving there someone said "motherfcker" over the air which was pretty freakin funny. oh and personally i think the wild 100 dj scked he played A LOT of top 40 played out crap but i guess that is to appease the runners of the radiostation. so was aphrodite actually placed live over wild 100 and if so did anyone record the Jermey VS Jermey set?

yeah it kinda sucks being a dnb junkie sometimes b/c you've already heard everything.....so it sucks when you go to ppl like aphrodite and they are playing WAY old shit....that's why ppl like Dillinja *droll* and them who put out new shit ALL THE TIME will always surprise you with some kick ass tracks you've never heard before. THATS the only time a DJ's set will rawk my ass.....OR if they play a record that JUST came out the same week (Tech Itch at MD3 playing bad Company's Rodeo) and I'm just like OMG HOW DOES HE ALREADY HAVE THAT?!?!? and that rawks too.....
