Reign in Denton

I just saw Dj Merrit @ Reign in Denton and was thoroughly disappointed. It wasn't his fault, but there was more people playing pool than dancing. I had a good time even though I was dancing with about 5 other people. I attended PVD last weekend so my opinion might be a little biased. Good effort by Merrit, but he didn't stand a chance next to his opening act. A girl Dj whose name I didn't catch was laying it down, and Merrit fell off the wagon. If Dj Merrit is reading this I am sorry about the turn out but fucking Flickerstick was playing at the same time, and denton is a rock town................I fucking hate rock.

that dj was indeed DJ CHAI, and i'm sure she thanks you for the kind words

i didn't think Reign was such a bad venue. it was a lot more roomy than most places we frequent in dallas. that fraternity/sorority crowd was not the most dance-oriented group, but they still seemed to be having fun.

i thought all the dj's performed well considering the fact that they were playing on Numark decks and a bunch of obnoxious chodes kept invading the stage area

i sincerely hope Rainforest Action Network was able to raise a decent amount of money from the benefit party. props to all that came out in support of something meaningful and worthwhile.

I know people whos trying to change this and make it a hip hop town. Rock is cool too, but I agree. Denton needs more options to choose from.
