Lee Pouridge in Asstin

Well well well. Had a blast down in Austin.

The Sky Lounge is a pretty decent place. Good size and pretty clean. The crowd kinda got on my nerves, to be honest. People in Austin can be quite rude and obnoxious. But I suppose you could say that about any big city that has a college in it.

Despite the small sound problems, Lee threw it down proper. His set was quite a bit more progressive than what I was expecting, but still dope. But hey, what can you expect? It's a GU party.

I love his track (Do You Smoke Pot?). Definitely the track of the night.

Saw (and groped) some Dallas folks. Always a pleasure. Had to be put to bed by my roommate due to the amount of drinks I took down.

Got up the next day and burned myself on Lake Travis. I look like a raddish now.

Sounds like a good time outside of D Town.

Its been awhile since I've scoped anything that Lee's thrown down. Looks like hes still somewhat on track.

I wonder what Lee thought about Austin's urinals...?

Good set, okay club, typical Austin clubbers. Not sure what is in the water down there, but christ the people in the clubs just don't know how to act. There were two dudes that kept "rave stomping" and making the needles skip. And when I say people don't know how to act, that goes for my roommate too. Fool had to ride all the way home with his head hanging out of the window.

I love Lee Burridge!!!! Or maybe I just love Rum... I can't remember.

My only regret is leaving early. I have a feeling, based on my luck and the last two tracks I heard, that I missed the best part. I think Lance said they were recording the set for Proton Radio. At least I'll have the opportunity to hear what I missed.

Lance and Smight did a phenomenal job opening for Lee. You two should think about taking that show on the road. Maybe, um, to Dallas!

Miles, Stan, and Tam… You rock!!! I just wish you kids had stayed longer.

Vrew!!! Now that I've somewhat recovered, its time to go out and act crazy all over again! Its Saturday night and the mood is right!

People in Austin tend to say the same thing about those in Dallas.
I think it's less an example of the crowd genuinely being more rude as you being out of your familiar surroundings and not knowing very many people.

That's primarily because the Sky Lounge is an uptight, snotty hangout for fratboys and raver kids who drive up from San Antonio. It's one of the most pretentious places in the city - noone within any style from Austin would step foot in that dump. It's too bad because it ruins it for the few cool people who go there to see the occasional good acts that they book. Ah well, don't judge the city by that craphole.
