Alright.... I've never understood progressive trance. I only stayed until about 2:30, so I didn't even get to hear half of his set but.. Il'l come right out and say this. What I did hear was boring. In fact, unbelievably, incredible, falling asleep on the railing 2 feet away from the turntables boring. I guess this type of music just isn't my bag... but how can he have been voted "#1 DJ in the world" ? I was BORED TO DEATH..... dancing was the last thing I had on my mind, save for a few of the really hard tracks he played. hah... that's my opinion. please don't flame me for it. |

hmm, heres my review: **lighting was bad ass **visuals in all were bad ass **music was good **Jimmy Van M. was decent (he played a DOPE ass track with a killer bassline) **sasha was decent **sound was good **atmosphere in general was good **Event Staff was BAD **Paying 40 bucks for this was BAD **Getting another "Feel" flyer was BAD I'm just really happy i can say that I've seen Sasha. One of the DJ"s ive wanted to see. But it definately was not worth 40 bucks. Maybe JUST MAYBE, was it worth 30. Closer to 25 perhaps. I wasnt really that impressed. But im a dnb junkie, so whatever. Oh, and i agree with Merlin...It was good to see sasha and all, but it was kinda making me want to go to sleep. Just my $.02 Peace, Michael (Harsh Reality Crew) |

| Well...........
All I can say is that Sasha far exceded my expectations...... This guy is the man. We got there and and Jimmy Van M was throwin down....I spotted a few tracks he had played at Red Jacket.....and the whole overall set was a little mellow....... oh well........BTW Jimmy Van M is one moody fucker....never looks at anyone and is in total concentration mode..... I'm listenin to Lee Burridges entrance right now and .......wow! This guy too is a badass........he did lose the crowd a little bit towards the end of his set.... now Sasha was a badass...... It was surreal seeing the guy 10 feet in front of you.........I couldnt believe it.....freakin Sasha Sasha is class , thou I wish he would have looked at the crowd more..........oh well It was cool that Sasha peeped my Global Underground poster and came down to sign it.. ........The whole set up was awsome ...... they definitely went all out for these guys.......I had a blast and it was well worth the dough........... I recorded a good portion of this event.......and thou the quality and people talking around me fucks it up a bit......it still a fucken badass memento.......of last nights experience peace |

Ok ... I was going to get on here and say something to the effect of ... "Ridiculous" ... and just leave it at that. Ridiculous in the most incredibly positive sense you can imagine. But after reading a few reviews here ... I'm going to have to express my opinion on the evening in greater detail. Arriving at 8:30pm, we were treated to a very deep intro from Jimmy. He and Lee Burridge tagged on the tables for a couple of hours, and I must admit that I have seen Jimmy twice now and both times I have not been that impressed. Granted I would love to have that record crate of his, but his set just didn't go anywhere ... Lee would get it going and Jimmy would drag it back down ... He played a sick ass track with the killer bassline (as mentioned above) which he played at the Red Jacket also ... but beyond that, nothing dancefloor worthy IMHO. Lee Burridge on the other hand ... once he was granted control of the decks, this man ripped it ... I think he was held back by how deep the set started, but HE should have opened for a few hours before Sasha ... Leave Jimmy at home .... (Sorry JVM ... If you are reading this, please don't blacklist me and shut down my small future before I ever even have one ... )Now for Sasha ... I went into this show with very high expectations ... I had not gotten to see him play before but I've heard many a story. I've listened to many a live set on the internet. Worn out all the GU cd's ... Very high expectations to say the least. Totally exceeded everything I expected. If you left at 2:30 in the morning, you got to hear approximately 1:45 minute of a 3:30 minute set. Sasha hammered one house track after another. There was no "trance" to be found for the first half of that set. You may have been burned out by the monotonous pace that JVM had been pushing on us. Which on the grand scheme of things, that is exactly what he was there to do. To get us ready for something bigger. But even though Sasha would not let a record break down for more than a second or two, his track selection was totally hypnotizing and far from boring or sleep inducing. Where you missed out, is around 2:50 when Sasha took what he had crafted for us and took it up about 10 notches. All of the waiting through this whole night blew up into a straight hour of absolutely killer tracks (that I would be willing to lose a finger or two for.) that pummeled us with spacey sounds and sick sick bass lines. And when Sasha finally did play some "progressive trance", it was so long in the making that even the "hardcore" house guys would have sit back in awe and appreciate what was going on. It was during one of those long atmospheric breakdowns when I realized that this is what Sasha was, and this is why I play what I play. -Wes P.S. Can I get $5 bucks back since Sasha only played for 3 1/2hours unlike the advertised 4??? (40 / 4hours = $10 hour = $5 1/2 Hour) j/k

It was worth it to hear him play Star Guitar, the new Chemical Brothers track, at the end of his set. The crowd's energy tripled instantly if only for that 7 minutes of glory. Yes, I have the promo album, so I can hear the track all the time, but it's one of those great club tracks that just has to be pumped through some incredible speakers and experienced in a sea of writhing bodies. By worth it, I mean worth 25 bucks for the evening. Yar, Charles |

He wasn't all that bad. He was going off toward the end of his set. He had people jumpin gettin them hyped up. I don't think it would've been worth the $40 to see him though. I didn't have to worry about that though. I got the hook up, so I got to party for free.... *Note* For the ones who bought their tickets there, did you guys see that pimp in the red sweet shirt who was selling the tickets? If so, that was me |

HOLY FUCKING SHIT is all I can say. I have a new favorite DJ and his name is Sasha. I am in complete agreement with Wes. JVM was just downright boring. Then Sasha got there and it was just...BAM. I'm more of a trance guy, not much one for house or progressive house, but Sasha really is seamless. His set flowed wonderfully, and there wasn't a track in that entire set that I knew, which is saying something. This man is the epitome of progression. The second half of his set rocked hard. And that last track he played after the lights came on was really fucking dope. Didn't really get to catch Lee Burridge, but what I did catch was decent. A little downtempo for me, but the mixing was good. Like I said, JVM kinda bored me, but he gets props for playing for a lil over 3 hours since Sasha got there late. One more time...Sasha is a god. And Fernando, I absolutely HAVE to have a copy of that set. I'll sell my left nut for it if I have to.
