Okay, me and baby got there around 10:00 or 10:15, and DJ Spin was doin pretty good. His mixing was decent and he was throwin down some pretty good hard house/hard trance/hardstyle kinda beats. Nothin special, but good hard shit that got yer booty movin.

Then Ivy came on spinning some more housy stuff. AND HE SUCKED. Not necessarily the track selection, but his mixing was horrible!

Ragman did it up proper though! His set was maybe a little popier than I like but for the most part, he threw it down pretty damn decent. Definately the best set of the night IMO.

Then Lasgo took the stage. There must be a European formula for pop-dance groups, because her set-up was identical to Ian Van Dahl's. Hot chick singing with 2 dancers that do nothing but dance. Ian Van Dahl had chick dancers, Lasgo had guys. She sings 5 or 6 songs accompanied by CD and gets the crowd to sing along and what not. I will give her the same props I gave Ian Van Dahl though. She can sing live!! Her intonation and vocal quality was dead on! Maybe that doesn't deserve respect as "dance" music, but it deserves just as much respect as, if not more than, stateside pop acts like Christina and Britney. The teeny bopper pop star chicks over here have had some pretty horrendous sounding performances, but Lasgo performed quite well.

And she has a beautiful pair of tits! No ass, but a great rack!

Then the Breakbeat Brothers took over, Raydar and Shaolin. Not sure if it was both or just Raydar though.... But he did pretty decent. Kinda cheesy, but the mixing was alright. Good breakbeats that got the dancefloor MOVING! Seriously, both at Ian Van Dahl and last night when Raydar and Shaolin took the decks, people DANCED. The Liquid crowd must be partial to breaks.

Then me and baby split....

I gotta say, Liquid is a very nice club. All the bartenders are courteous and pour good stiff drinks for me. The staff in general seems to act like they're glad you're there, at least to me anyways. And the place is really very nice inside, with all the little tables with the candles up in the theater area. I wouldn't mind if they brought in a more respectable act sometime. It's big enough that they could handle a crowd for relatively big name DJ and they have the system for it. Seems like an untapped resource, but I have no idea what management's views on that sort of thing is. I'd bet that's what keeps such a thing from happening. But oh well, it's nice club and suitable for these kind of events.

Good to see Johnny Funk, Ben, and.... I think that's all the DDM'ers I saw out there, but i didn't really look....

Yeah the show was great! I was up pretty close to her on the side of the stage next to Domino. I went backstage later and met her...it was great! She's awesome.

Unfortunately for the trance head in me but fortunately for the junglist in me, I'm goin to the Raiden and Ras show at Home Bar this evening.
