i used to live over there. that area happens to be wet. it goes sporadically to the north- the only other wet areas are walnut hill & 75, walnut hill & greenville, spring valley and Inwood. (those that i can think of...)

bottom line is they carved out little areas and won't allow anything to be sold outside of those areas. that kroger happens to fall in a wet area.

Chicago has alcohol sales everywhere and I was even able to enjoy a bottle of beer on the buses and trains there. You just can't smoke in any of their clubs though. At least not the ones I went to.

If you think of Dallas as one big collection of country towns, and those buildings downtown as cardboard cutouts, it doesn't really piss you off as much.

You know the biggest small town whip of the universe is our newspaper. The absolute old lady with a column is Jaqulien(its some form of the female jack) Floyd's local column. I hate that bitch with a passion. She some how tried to rationalize the new Jerry World in Arlington, by saying HE got the superbowl. Like somehow we wouldn't have got it if we had been in Dallas??!! Even in the end she gave the patronizing and semi offensive, "for one day, we're all Jerry's Kids", making reference to Jerry Jones, but completetly marginalizing kids with cerebal palsey and fundraising efforts for them, by saying that Jerry's our daddy. I'm sure she's the daughter of someone in the HP area, because no writer could ever be that fucking terrible.

Incorrect, to the east of White Rock Creek, or whatever its really called is dry. That is why at WRL all the Liquor/beer stores are just on the other side of the creek on loop12 and at the southern end across the bridge at the spillway.
