Friend pointed something out recently that I never thought of...

For the most part a huge percentage of employers these days require you to pass a drug test to be hired, get paid and more specific to the thread pay taxes. A portion of those taxes are in turn passed on to people on welfare. Now I have no problem helping out, but how about in order to receive gov't assistance that utilizes a portion of our tax money (which we must get drug tested and hired to make) people would have to pass the same standard drug test? I realize that the gov't doesn't mandate employers choice to drug test...and there may be an arguement of cost efffectiveness, but it is an interesting idea none the less.

yeah i got that email from a friend about a month ago saying that same thing... its a good point but i doubt the gov't would do it...
