I came home tonight to my apt to see that my car had been destroyed. Luckily there was a note on the window that someone had tried to find the owner of the car and left insurance information. It was a goddamned fedex truck that hit it. Smashed into the drivers side rear quarter panel, bent the hell out of the rear axle, popped open my truck and took out part of the door.
Worst possible time this could happen too. I am supposed to be moving on friday :-/

yeah hopefully it all works out. The only problem is, my car is 19inches from the curb. Ignition switch went out a little bit ago and i had to have it towed. The tow driver left it too far away from the curb. The law says 18 inches so if the adjuster comes out and sees that its an inch to far, they might not pay.
And i cant move it because I know they took pictures and shit. If i get caught moving it ill get busted for insurance fraud. Just gotta wait it out and see what happens. It's gonna suck if this has to come out of my pocket.

Fuck that id move it an inch or two if they ask say ya I jacked the car up to see the rear axle damage whats wrong with doing that? You dont have to leave your car there till an adjuster comes.

UPS once hit an ac unit outside a business i managed. They took care of it with a quickness. Just call FedEX and explain the situation, also your insurance if you have any... they'll sort it out fast.. will even pay for a rental.

After two hours of being on the phone with people who didnt know shit i finally got a hold of a guy who could get me transferred to a local office that had knowledge of the accident.
The people at corporate had nothing on it, the guy didnt leave his name and they told me it would take 5 days to find the driver and have someone do something about it. I called the cops and was able to get all the info within 10 minutes. 10 more minutes searching on the internet gave me his full name, address, cell phone number, DOB and drivers license number.
Fuck a bunch of micromanaged, poor customer service bullshit. They told me to take it to some place and get an estimate so i dont have to worry about the curb distance it seems. Now I just have to get a tow truck out here to take it somewhere. Hopefully that wont come out of my pocket.

That does suck... but at least you got hit by a company truck and they are going to pay for it.

Turns out yelling, threatening and being an outright asshole DOES accomplish something
