GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!!!!
So I'm rounding a corner this morning and I get not one, but my three middle toes at full speed on a door jam. At first I thought it was just a stub but now I can't put any weight on it whatsoever and my entire foot is swollen with my toes the size of my thumb. Oh, and I don't have insurance and it's the second day of my new job.

if it makes you feel any better, it's doubtful a doc would be able to do anything besides prescribe pain killers.

That sucks, but the doctor isn't going to be able to do anything for you except for pain, that is unless your toes are all out of whack. I have had numerous broken toes and fingers. Just tape those little sausages up and try and get through the pain (hopefully w/ a bit of pharmacy help).

So how long do they take to heal? I called them and told them what happened and they said I did need to come in for an x ray.

don't fall for it. they will just run up a bunch of bills and then tell you they really can't do anything but put like a toe splint on it. to tell you the truth, most of my broken toes I have had still hurt to this day during bad weather. The bottom line is just a like a doctor told me once, "son, we can do some serious surgery to fix this problem, but that would be of your choice and the insurance probably won't cover it since it's not necessary. Unless your going to be a professional athlete and you seriously need this fixed, then I would say tuff it out."

this was after hours at the doctors and x-rays, etc., lol

basically I spent all that time and money for someone to tell me to tape them up and put an ice pack on it. oh, and I got a prescription for extra strength tylenol basically, lol. Shit was a joke.

You are probably looking at a week or two of severe tenderness until it gets to where you can walk on it without being in pain constantly.

Yeah for a while. It's basically going to be like a really bad jamb for a while. Even if you went to the doctor, they can't make it heal any faster, so your screwed both ways.

probably, but that's when you invest in a bike. And just b/c you have some pain doesn't mean it won't be tolerable.
