Nothing happened; I don't serve minors, drunks, or retards and I don't drink on the job. I was just making an apostrophic request that they please die in a lake of vomit. And that they take their time to do so.

But I do find it LOL in the unfavorable sense that if I serve some asshole who winds up causing a fatal accident, according to Dram Shop laws, I can be held accountable, because it's my fault an adult can't handle himself nor his liquor, while if some mother of two who cocktails on weekends while going to nursing school refuses to serve alcohol to an expectant mother, she can be sued for discriminatory refusal of service as it imposes on the preggo's right to taint her unborn child. Fuck the self-contradicting douchetapo who came up with that one.

I think when it comes down to it not only the law of the land, but the law of morality would side with you when its all said and done...espeically in the case of a prego mom trying to get served and refused...and rightfully so...at least I would hope. I would assume its a tough call in some cases...especially in a busy bar...its not like you guys are babysitters too and are going to monitor a person's every move...its a very tough case to prove against an establishment unless there is proof that the club was fully informed on how impaired someone was...happens more with neighborhood bars than high turnover bars/clubs on a strip.

Oh and if it actually does have anything to do with a prego chick..wow...just no words...its extremely sad because there is no excuse for a woman to be drinking in the least bit while she is prego.

Im not 100% positive but, Im pretty sure Texas being an at will state, people can sue for any reason shure, but usally, bars can choose when and who too or not serve at there descresion, under any circumstances they choose of fill fit. I used to bar tend at upscale places, and usally best judgement, is always the way to go. Ive never read or heard any one having a case with teeth on not being served at a bar for not serving any one? could be wrong but not in Texas.

It has nothing to do with the at will state, but has everything to do with the right to refuse service for any reason. As long as you post a sign somewhere in the business that is visible to the customer informing them of this right, you are in the clear. As long as you are smart enough not to give them a reason, you should be ok. A TABC agent in Addison told me this when I was opening The Quarter.
