People who let thier animals run around the neighborhood

This morning I almost ran over a Chihuahua darting back and forth across the Matilda. There was another stray that ran off after I pulled my car over on a side street. The Chihuahua ran across the street again, came within inches of being hit by a car, who almost skidded off the road and onto the sidewalk where a guy was walking his dog.

The guy walking his dog was as pissed as me, showed me where the owner's house was, and said they let him run around the neighborhood all the time. There was a kid outside with another Chihuahua and I told him he was almost hit by a car as well as caused an accident. He went back to playing on his phone so I told him to go get his parents.

His mom came out and I told her your dog is running across Matilda, almost died several times and caused a few accidents. The bitch told me she doesn't have any dogs. I asked her if the dogs on the front porch were hers or not and she said oh yeah, those are mine. WTF?

I told her I am not trying to be rude, but it's one thing to get your dog run over because you don't care, and it's another to cause accidents because drivers don't want to hit a dog in the road. I also said that is really going to screw someone up after they hit a dog on the way to work. And what if they have kids in the car? She said oh we plan on giving him away to someone else who wants him. I offered to take him and bring him to Operation Kindness but she said no.

I finally told her if I see it again I will call animal control, they will come and take the dog away and fine her. Fucking bitch, way to think about yourself only. I wish people had to go through tests before they can have animals. I am considering calling animal control anyway because I am not sure she even gave a fuck and won't hesitate to put people's lives in danger again, not to mention the poor dog.

Hopefully you won't see a chihuachanga on the side of the road next to a dude with a grill and a Jalisco in his hand.

What a bitch. Some people just don't deserve to own animals. She's treating those dogs like they're fish, or earthworms or snails. Fucking careless. I'd call animal patrol, might cause some more ripples than bitching her out from your car... especially when she sees her child throwing a temper tantrum because his dog is missing.

I don't care what anyone says dogs should ALWAYS be on a leash while outside of a fenced area. People think thier dogs are so well trained but don't realize in the end they run off of instinct. A squirrel could come by, instinct kick in, and they take off. All it takes is one time to run across a street and get hit by a car. One time and one time only.

I agree completely! I could never live in Austin, where everyone thinks it's cruel to put your dog on a leash. LOL.
