xbox 360 woes.

Ok, back at the end of July I got a 360 for my birthday and it didn't work out of the box so I get another that day. Two months later I get the red ring of death and warranty replaces it. Two days ago that one gets the ring and I say fuck it, I'm getting an Elite where the problems are supposedly fixed. This morning I turn it on and get a red light in the bottom right corner and an error code saying e72 or something like that. I'm on my fifth xbox 360 in less than 4 months. It's getting old. I'm exchanging this one and if it fucks up in the least, I'm making the move to the PS3.

I did, it was more wack than my 360 woes. There are only about two games I enjoyed on it vs. 5,000,000 on the 360. Plus Katamari. I just can't come to like the wonky controls on the wii. Plus the dumbed down graphics and gameplay on multi-platform titles is unacceptable.

it came out last tuesday and it's pretty amazing. we bought a 360 just to play katamari

80lbs of shit in a 5lb bag......the Xbox 360 is basically a PowerMac G5 desktop with a kickass video card. The problem is that the Powermac G5 machines were all liquid cooled monsters and came in a case thats almost 3ft tall. Microsoft decided to try to cool what is essentially the same chip as the G5 with heat syncs and fans in a tiny enclosure thinking that that video games would never push the chip enough to overheat the systems. The reason that the problem is more common now is because nearly every new release title is pushing the chip to its max and cooking the shit out of the machines. Its bad architecture from the ground up, mixed with poor future planning.
