Yeah, so one of our chins is in surgery right now.
Yeah, I was playing with 'em late on Saturday night and Mocha missed a jump and took a nasty spill. He seemed fine until yesterday when we noticed that he was dragging his foot around behind him and wasn't being quite as social as he normally is. We both took today off and ended up taking him in. It turns out that his hind leg is broken and that the best option is to amputate it. The surgery is very simple and I trust the people doing it obviously, but small animals and anesthesia sometimes don't mix. He's still in surgery but they will call me as soon they're done.

So, I guess I'm going to have a tripod chin now.

Thanks guys, he should be fine if he can get through the surgery. From what I've read mobility's not much of an issue with this stuff and that they can pretty much get around like always. I'm gonna have to rename him Stumpy.

Yeah, they can put pins in it and everything but there is more potential for complications during surgery and recovery. This is the most common break with chins and 9 times out of 10 they lose a limb over it. They're just too little.

Just got a call and he's out of surgery and doing fine. I'll probably have him back home tonight.
