8o+ year old drivers - Dallas Dance Music - Dallas nightlife, music, tickets, and more

So i was driving to the shop earlier, minding my own business, i hit an intersection with a 4 way stop sign. Get my stop on, and proceed to intersect, when out of the corner of my eye an old lady blew a stop sign doing what my guess was at least 40mph. My only reaction was to hit the gas and swerve to the left, leaving me up on the median. She stopped about a block down, and just sat there. I got out and was hands over head going holy fuck how did she miss me. I walked over to her, and she was in tears crying. After seeing that my anger went away, and i tried to calm her, another driver called an ambulance. The other driver goes dude she barely missed you, had you paused you might be dead right now. I was like why the fuck do they left them drive being so old, they don't react like they used to be able too. A cop showed up, and was like she really has no business behind the wheel. I was like yeah no shit man. WHEW.. the rush i had went away and left me with a numb feeling. Fuck!!

Glad your alright my friend. I hear ya though.It seems to me that there should be some kind of city safety ordinance, prohibiting people that have no business driving from doing so.

That same thing happened with me 2 weeks ago. Old lady just plowed through the 4 way stop.

my grandmother is 91 and still drives. I am not saying it is right or wrong. a lot of people die because of that shit. you should always look for shit like that. my mom lives in an assisted living community so I have to deal with those people everyday. I also have to drive though the barrio to get back home they all drive the same slow and erratic.

I was at Sonic the other day this old man parks next to us. His hand were very shaky & he was driving a 5 speed. I think he was a bit old to be driving. My grandpaw is in his 70's & he shouldn't be driving but he does.

you mean every year, take a test? that would suck. I think after folks turn 70 it should every 5 yrs. Something more regular. But that sucks for elderly ppl who have no one to take them anywhere. I would hate to be old & stuck at home. I'm young & I HATE being stuck at home.

Maybe not every year, but every 5 or so would be a good idea. And you can't test the +70 group exclusively. Hell there are a lot of stupid 25 year old drivers.

i will have to agree... my sig. other's g-ma... well lets just say she has NO business driving... but you won't be able to tell her that

She was driving to our house & I waited in the street for her to pull up... as she turns down our street I see her hit the curb (for no apparent reason) & stop... then I flag her down to our driveway & she's in our grass.... it makes me laugh but, it's really a shame... our bodies & minds do deteriorate after a while.... just sucks. She's really sharp-minded but, her driving skills are less than desired.

but, seriously.... I think all people after age 70 (like said before) should have mandatory driving tests, every 5 or so years... to insure for themselves & the sake of others... youth= just inexperienced... older= motor skills are less than before.
