The dog is happy and isn't abused, but I feel so bad for it when it's cold and rainy outside, and here my dogs are curled up in front of the fireplace inside. Like I said it has a dog house, but *technically* the chain is illegal, since its an actual chain and not a retractable tether tie-down.

totally agree. I don't think it's much different than the hundreds of morons in this city who live in small apartments, keep their dogs in kennels inside all day, then come home and walk them for 10 minutes at night only to leave again. If you are going to have pets, take care of them and give them the love and care they need... otherwise, let the shelters adopt them or put them down.

I have let people's dogs go before when they didn't take care of them and kept them chained up or outside in the cold.

Most men probably would if they could lick themselves like dogs.

I don't necessarily agree with chaining a dog, but I don't freak out and get my panties in a bunch over it, either. As long as the dog has good living conditions: shelter, water/food - then it is acceptable. Sure, it would be better to have them free in the yard, but... it's also just a dog. Some animal nuts get a little too crazy over this stuff. Now, if the dog is being abused, do something about it. But 'cold weather' is not going to bother a dog unless it's cold and rainy and there is nothing for it to get under.

Depends. Huskies can live inside as long as they get enough exercise. Your brother will know if he is doing this right depending on how much of his shit is torn up when he gets home. Also, it's preferred that if you have a husky that you have 2 or at least a companion dog. They are pack animals and prefer to run a lot.... but they are perfectly acceptable inside dogs as long as they get A LOT of exercise each day, like running a mile or so.

We have a chihuaha in our apt but don't keep him locked up. And he only needs 10 minute walks, then again he's a chihuaha.

He runs around our living room like it's a backyard.

I'd take him out on a walk and he'd get too cold to wanna keep walking and lift one paw and keep it off the snow for a lil bit...

I love ya annn--eeeee-mall god I am so happy to go see this sob

It's sad.

It you don't have time for a dog, or money to care for it, don't fucking get one. Tell your kids NO. Dumbasses.
the worse parents of all are the ones that are such push overs they can't tell their kids NO.

i know that i REALLY want a puppy REAL BAD, but damn it, i know i can't give it enough time. makes me sad, but at least i'm not stupid enough to get a cute puppy JUST because I WANT one. it's hard. yeah, i just WANT it.
