![]() | Teamwork
I'm working on a project right now, and like a lot of projects, it requires teamwork/co-operation from others. On this particular project, we have a guy who is a really talented contributor, but he's up and down. Two weeks ago, he's blowing up my phone saying he's got tons of ideas and we need to meet up, etc. And for two weeks I've been trying to reach him set something up to collaborate. In the meantime, I have roughly eight separate people, who have eight separate responsibilities waiting for some sort of direction/answer. He is one of the lead people on the project, but I mean, fuck. I've tried everything I can to get a hold of him. I see his truck at his job (he works close to my neighborhood), so I know he's alive and functioning... He's going through a divorce, so I don't know if he's depressed or what. I've tried to explain to his voicemail that everyone's time is important and that everyone is waiting for him. Thursday, I went over his head, got some phone numbers and made some calls, so the rest of us are moving on. Anyone ever deal with some shit like this on a project or something that requires teamwork? I'd hate to have to just cut him out, but that's what I just might have to do. His input and contributions, both creatively and otherwise, really benefit the project. But the clock is ticking and we don't have time to wait. |

No. If you see his truck you should just walk over there. Take him out for lunch and margaritas or something, maybe that will pull him out of a slump. At least you could get some comunication flowing. |

I'd leave a note on his truck or go to where his truck is and approach him. If he is that talented, he may be worth the effort.

![]() | Did that last Monday. I taped a note to his window, which was really hilarious, thinking he'd call as soon as he saw it, but no. Never heard from him. And the guy truly is like a fountain of ideas and knowledge, nobody in town compares, and I've met a lot of folks. It like no one else is on his level.
