Why does everyone embrace cancer? There is a war on AIDS because people want to prevent it. If someone dies from AIDS we can still joke about it and taunt AIDS. We do not succumb to the disease, we shun it. Instead of standing tall in the face of cancer, why do all you faggots on this board shy away and cower like a bunch of scared children? Cancer is real. I am sorry if you lost someone to it, but you really need to lighten up. You wanna piss and moan about it then that is your prerogatives. Instead maybe you should support research to prevent and treat it. People can joke about the holocaust, slavery, terrorism, suicide, murder, and other health problems, and I don't see you cancer-fearing freaks jumping on their backs. You fucking hypocrites should be ashamed of yourselves wallowing in your pity. Grow up. Go take a blood shower and kill yourself. I hope someone murders you. May God personally fuck you in the ass like a small child in a Catholic church. Get AIDS. I hope Mohammad makes you his slave and you fly into a building. Whatever you do, just don't get cancer.

I can understand getting offended over a comment directed at someone specifically with hurtful intensions behind it, but for the most part I think people in general go way out of their way to be offended over silly shit. I think it's just a plea for attention in most cases. We've all had bad stuff happen to us. I've lost several close relatives and friends to a myriad of things, cancer being one of them, and I can still laugh at jokes that skim the surface of those memories. Some people need to buck up and stop acting like such titty babies. Just my take on it.

i didn't really know people were joking about aids.. but there is a huge difference. aids is a social disease and cancer is not. i donate to cancer research. and i totally agree with millz

I dunno, if someone close to me had died of cancer, like my mom, dad, brothers, Tim, etc., I would be sensitive to the cause. The same with AIDS, etc. Maybe people don't have personal experiences with the other things you listed, but they do with cancer. That is typical human behavior. To tell people that have lost family members to cancer to lighten up and go kill themselves is really a jackass thing to do. If you lost your fiance to cancer I am pretty sure you would be sensitive to the cause. I doubt you would want to take shit from people who had no idea what you went through. Maybe you are the one who should lighten up, making a thread about what people should and shouldn't get mad about. |

my cousin has cancer right now (stage 4 cervical & ovarian), and even she cracks jokes about it. as do all the women she has met in treatment. if the cancer victims and survivors can find humor in it, why is it so hard for friends and family to? |

I'm just going to have a rider that I intend on handing out to everyone I encounter with an itemized list of things that are sources of mental anguish so they can avoid the topic altogether. I hope my friends understand my need to only discuss Jello and lamp shades from this point on.

Ya, I know you lost your mom to cancer yesterday, but you need to lighten up about it or kill yourself. Awesome.

If I lost my mother today to cancer I wouldn't require the rest of the planet to stop speaking about it.

And I seriously doubt any of you would do this off a rave board to someone's face. Go ahead, go the children's cancer ward and start saying this shit to all the parent's. Tell them to lighten up about thier 3 year old with bone marrow cancer. Not going to happen if you can't hide behind a computer screen.
